The treatment of patients with diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) is extremely complex, requiring a comprehensive approach that involves a variety of different healthcare professionals. Several studies have shown that a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach is useful to achieve good clinical outcomes, reducing major and minor amputation and increasing the chance of healing. Despite this, the multidisciplinary approach is not always a recognized treatment strategy.

The advent of hybrid Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) and PET/Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners resulted in an increased clinical relevance of nuclear medicine in oncology. The use of [18F]-Fluorodeoxyglucose ([18F]FDG) has also made it possible to study tumors (including breast cancer) from not only a dimensional perspective but also from a metabolic point of view. In particular, the use of [18F]FDG PET allowed early confirmation of the efficacy or failure of therapy.

Cerebral maturation is characterized by different age-dependent molecular and cellular processes and follows a different course for grey matter (GM) and white matter (WM). During brain development, a crucial point seems to be represented by the establishment of a hemispheric specialization with the left hemisphere dominant for language and motor control and the right hemisphere dominant for visuospatial processing and attention. Therefore, motor and cognitive development are strongly connected.

Objective: Gadolinium-based contrast agent needs time to leak into the extravascular-extracellular space, leak back into the vascular space, and reach an equilibrium state. For this reason, acquisition times of <10 min may cause inaccurate estimation of pharmacokinetic parameters. Since no studies have been conducted on the influence of long scan times on DCE-MRI parameters in brain tumors, the aim of this study is to investigate the variation of DCE-MRI-derived kinetic parameters as a function of acquisition time, from 5 to 10 min in brain tumors.

Histoplasmosis is a globally distributed systemic infection caused by the dimorphic fungus (). This fungus can cause a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations, and the diagnosis of progressive disseminated histoplasmosis is often a challenge for clinicians. Although microscopy and culture remain the gold standard diagnostic tests for identification, matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) has emerged as a method of microbial identification suitable for the confirmation of dimorphic fungi.
