A search in an all-jet final state for new massive resonances decaying to , , or boson pairs using a novel analysis method is presented. The analysis is performed on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 77.3 recorded with the CMS experiment at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of 13  .

Acne scars are the ultimate outcome of acne vulgaris, a prevalent skin disorder affecting the pilo-sebaceous unit. Laser resurfacing has been demonstrated to be an efficient therapy option for acne scars. Hence, we adopted this concept and conducted a study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of low-energy double-pass 1450-nm diode laser on acne scars.

Background: The periorbital region is among the first areas to be affected by the process of aging, which is influenced by genetic and constitutional factors. As the region plays an important role in overall facial appearance, rejuvenation of the area has immense cosmetic benefit and various treatment modalities have been used to achieve the same.

Aims: This article reviews commonly used non-surgical and minimally invasive modalities for periorbital rejuvenation.

Article Synopsis
  • Androgenetic alopecia (AGA), commonly known as common baldness, is a condition where androgen hormones cause the conversion of strong hair (terminal hair) to weaker hair (vellus hair), affecting both males and females, though it's primarily seen in men.* -
  • AGA can have significant psychological impacts on patients due to its long-term treatment requirements and aesthetic concerns, making tailored treatment options essential based on individual needs and circumstances.* -
  • This review examines various treatment methods for AGA, highlighting low-level laser therapy (LLLT), while analyzing relevant studies from databases like MEDLINE and PubMed to provide insights on the subject.*

The possibility to use β decaying isotopes for radioguided surgery (RGS) has been recently proposed, and first promising tests on ex-vivo samples of Meningioma and intestinal Neuroendocrine Tumor (NET) have been published. This paper reports a study of the uptake of Ga-DOTATOC in pancreatic NETs (pNETs) in order to assess the feasibility of a new RGS approach using Y-DOTATOC. Tumor and healthy pancreas uptakes were estimated from Ga-DOTATOC PET/CT scans of 30 patients with pNETs.

The standard model (SM) production of four top quarks ( ) in proton-proton collisions is studied by the CMS Collaboration. The data sample, collected during the 2016-2018 data taking of the LHC, corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 137 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 . The events are required to contain two same-sign charged leptons (electrons or muons) or at least three leptons, and jets.

Background: Acne vulgaris is a chronic disfiguring inflammatory disease of adolescents and adults affecting up to 90% of the population around the world. The sequence of etiopathogenesis in acne is not completely understood but involves abnormalities in sebum production, follicular plugging, proliferation of propionibacterium acnes, and chronic inflammation.

Aims: This review aims to summarize the features of the topical selective RAR agonists in treating acne vulgaris with a special emphasis on the 4th generation topical retinoid trifarotene.

Phytoremediation potential of duckweeds (Lemna minuta, Lemna minor) to remove nutrients from simulated wastewater was analyzed. In two separate experiments, the two species were grown for 28 days in waters enriched with nitrate and phosphate to simulate nutrient concentrations of domestic wastewater. Water physical and chemical measurements (temperature, pH, conductivity, oxygen) and plant physiological and biochemical analysis (biomass, relative growth rate-RGR, nutrient and chlorophyll contents, peroxidative damage, bioconcentration factor-BCF) were made to test and compare the phytoremediation capacity of the two Lemna species.

The first search for supersymmetry in events with an experimental signature of one soft, hadronically decaying τ lepton, one energetic jet from initial-state radiation, and large transverse momentum imbalance is presented. These event signatures are consistent with direct or indirect production of scalar τ leptons (τ[over ˜]) in supersymmetric models that exhibit coannihilation between the τ[over ˜] and the lightest neutralino (χ[over ˜]_{1}^{0}), and that could generate the observed relic density of dark matter. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 77.

Malignant melanoma is an oncologic disease, whose current management among others includes surgical and immunological therapy. According to the current recommendations of the American Joint Committee on Cancer, the surgical excision of the primary tumor should be performed in two operative sessions, which has several consequences. The following paper will present and discuss six cases of pigmented lesions and the advantages of the one-step melanoma surgery in their management.

Article Synopsis
  • A measurement of electroweak production of a boson alongside two jets was conducted in proton-proton collisions, using data from the CMS Collaboration at the LHC, totaling an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb⁻¹.
  • The analysis focused on the jj final state, with measurements performed in both electron and muon channels, yielding cross-section results that align with standard model predictions.
  • Additionally, the study searched for anomalous trilinear gauge couplings, providing constraints related to dimension-six operators and combining results from previous CMS electroweak analyses.

Isotretinoin is a first-generation retinoid initially approved for the treatment of severe cases of acne vulgaris (nodulocystic acne). Because of its broad anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties, it has been used beyond its initial approval in a myriad of other indications. Adverse effects of isotretinoin vary from xerosis to teratogenicity.
