The purpose of this study was to map the instruments for assessing the comfort of hospitalized older adults in the scientific literature, identifying those instruments validated and transculturally adapted to the realities of Brazil. This was a scoping review of 14 articles and a website retrieved from the following databases: MEDLINE/PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, Web of Science, Scopus, Science Direct/Elsevier, and gray literature (Oasisbr, Catalog of Theses and Dissertations [CAPES], OATD, BDBTD, and The Comfort Line). Seventeen instruments for assessing the comfort of hospitalized older adults were mapped; however, none were specifically designed for this population, as they were originally intended for adults or individuals with neuropsychiatric conditions.

Two new heptapeptides, [1-7-NαC]-crocaorbs A1 (1) and A2 (2), were isolated from the latex of Croton campanulatus. Their structures were determined using NMR spectroscopic techniques, ESI-HRMS data, Marfey's method, and further refined using molecular dynamics with simulated annealing (MD/SA). Molecular dynamics calculations of peptides 1 and 2 demonstrated greater stability in simulations using a biological solvent compared to those using DMSO.

Introduction: This study explores the issue of paper-and-pencil screening tests for bipolar disorder, often leading to false positives. It discusses hypotheses that connect MDQ positivity with sleep disorders, a decline in health-related quality of life, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mood disorders. The study proposes that MDQ identifies a "Dysregulation of Mood, Energy, and Social Rhythms Syndrome" (DYMERS), indicating a stress-related condition.

The primordial odontogenic tumor (POT) is a rare mixed odontogenic tumor composed of mesenchymal cells, columnar odontogenic epithelium, and fibromyxoid stroma affecting the posterior mandible of children and adolescents. Herein, we report 3 patients with POT and the clinicopathological features of POT previously reported in the literature. A 12-year-old, 19-year-old, and 4-year-old patient presented an asymptomatic swelling in the posterior maxilla and posterior mandible.

This study aims to address a critical gap in the literature by examining the incorporation of uncertainty in measuring carbon emissions using the greenhouse gas (GHG) Protocol methodology across all three scopes. By comprehensively considering the various dimensions of CO2 emissions within the context of organizational activities, our research contributes significantly to the existing body of knowledge. We address challenges such as data quality issues and a high prevalence of missing values by using information entropy, techniques for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), and an artificial neural network (ANN) to analyze the contextual variables.

Introduction: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of two endodontic cleaning techniques, passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI) and the XP-endo Finisher R (XPR) system, in removing residual filling material during endodontic retreatment procedures.
Materials And Methods: Forty mandibular premolars with oval canals were divided into four groups based on the sealer used (AH-Plus or Bio-C Sealer) and the cleaning technique employed (PUI or XPR). To ensure uniformity of canal volume among groups, initial micro-CT scans were conducted.

Nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) is an important transcription factor that activates antioxidant genes and increases detoxifying enzymes. Studies have shown that dietary compounds can activate the Nrf2 expression and improve the antioxidant response in patients with exacerbated oxidative stress, such as chronic kidney disease (CKD). We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of nutritional interventions on Nrf2 expression and phase II antioxidant enzymes in clinical trials in CKD.

Objectives: Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a cancer syndrome associated with early-onset neoplasias. The use of whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (WBMRI) is recommended for regular cancer screening, however, evidence supporting the benefits in asymptomatic LFS patients is limited. This study aims to assess the clinical utility of WBMRI in germline TP53 mutation carriers at baseline and follow-up.

Turner syndrome (TS) is caused by a complete or partial absence of an X or Y chromosome, including chromosomal mosaicism, affecting 1 in 2500 female live births. Sister chromatid exchange (SCE) is used as a sensitive indicator of spontaneous chromosome instability. Cells from mosaic patients constitute useful material for SCE evaluations as they grow under the influence of the same genetic background and endogenous and exogenous factors.

This work aimed to study the effect of trehalose in protecting cells against Sod1 proteinopathy associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Humanized yeast cells in which native Sod1 was replaced by wild-type human Sod1 or an ALS mutant (WT-A4V Sod1 heterodimer) were used as the experimental model. Cells were treated with 10% trehalose (p/v) before or after the appearance of hSod1 proteinopathy induced by oxidative stress.

Climate change can affect biological assemblages by shifting their species' geographic range and changing species richness. Aquatic insects represent more than half of the freshwater animal species but have been neglected mainly in climate change assessments, particularly in tropical ecosystems. Among the aquatic insect taxa, Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, and Trichoptera (EPT) are well-known bioindicators of environmental changes and encompass an essential metric for rivers and streams' biomonitoring.

COVID-19 induces acute and persistent neurological symptoms in mild and severe cases. Proposed concomitant mechanisms include direct viral infection and strain, coagulopathy, hypoxia, and neuroinflammation. However, underlying molecular alterations associated with multiple neurological outcomes in both mild and severe cases are majorly unexplored.

Innovations in digital mental health, especially online mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (eMBCT), offer promising avenues for enhancing access to effective mental health care for individuals with TRD in a clinical setting.
Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the feasibility of eMBCT in an individual clinical context to decrease depressive symptoms for TRD.

Climate security refers to the risks posed by climate change on nations, societies, and individuals, including the possibility of conflicts. As an emerging field of research and public debate, where conceptual definitions are not yet fully agreed upon, gaining insights into global discussions on climate security enables systematizing its various interpretations and framings, mapping thematic priorities, and understanding information gaps that need to be filled. Considering Twitter as an important digital forum for information exchanges and dialogue, the dataset was created through the development of a query strategy based on a snowball scraping technique, which collected tweets containing hashtags related to climate security between January 2014 to May 2023.

Plastic pollution in aquatic ecosystems is increasing and plastic particles may adsorb and transport a diverse array of contaminants, thereby increasing their bioavailability to biota. This investigation aimed to evaluate the effects of varying polyethylene microplastics (PE MPs) and naphthalene (NAPH) concentrations on the survival and feeding rates of the model organism, Artemia salina, as well as NAPH adsorption to microplastics at different salinity levels (17, 75, 35.5 and 52.

Introduction: Infrared thermography (IT) is a non-invasive real-time imaging technique with potential application in different areas of neurosurgery. Despite technological advances in the field, intraoperative IT (IIT) has been an underestimated tool with scarce reports on its usefulness during intracranial tumor resection. We aimed to evaluate the usefulness of high-resolution IIT with static and dynamic thermographic maps for transdural lesion localization, and diagnosis, to assess the extent of resection, and the occurrence of perioperative acute ischemia.
