Zika virus (ZIKV) is a major public health problem worldwide. After several reported outbreaks, the current extent of infections caused by this orthoflavivirus in the Sahel remains to be explored. We investigated the prevalence of neutralizing antibodies against ZIKV in the general population, in HIV-infected individuals and in livestock in Chad using a seroneutralization assay that ensures high specificity level.

Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is a major public health issue worldwide. In the young (< 40 years of age), genetic cardiomyopathies and viral myocarditis, sometimes in combination, are the most frequent, but underestimated, causes of SCD. Molecular autopsy is essential for prevention.

Major 5'-terminally deleted (5'TD) RNA forms of group-B coxsackievirus (CVB-5'TD) has been associated with myocarditis in both mice and humans. Although it is known that interferon-β (IFN-β) signaling is critical for an efficient innate immune response against CVB-induced myocarditis, the link between CVB-5'TD RNA forms and type I IFN signaling in cardiomyocytes remains to be explored. In a mouse model of CVB3/28-induced myocarditis, major early-emerging forms of CVB-5'TD RNA have been characterized as replicative viral populations that impair IFN-β production in the heart.

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) frequently affects women of childbearing age and pregnant women.
Objective: To assess the use of MS disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) during pregnancy in France over the last decade, marked by an increasing DMTs availability.
Methods: All pregnancies ended from April 2010 to December 2021 in women with MS were identified based on the nationwide Mother-Child Register EPI-MERES, built from the French National Health Data System ( (SNDS)).

Background: New healthcare professions are emerging due to scarce medical resources. The appearance of a new healthcare profession, advanced practice nurses (APNs), has raised questions about how general practitioners interrelate with them as primary care providers. The objective of this study was to explore the perceptions general practitioners have towards the services rendered by APNs to patients, to general practice and the role they play in the healthcare system.

The protozoan parasites , , and are major causes of waterborne and foodborne diseases worldwide. The assessment of their removal or inactivation during water treatment and food processing remains challenging, partly because research on these parasites is hindered by various economical, ethical, methodological, and biological constraints. To address public health concerns and gain new knowledge, researchers are increasingly seeking alternatives to the use of such pathogenic parasites.

Purpose: The objective of our study was to evaluate the ability of preoperative MRI tractography to visualize and predict the path of the facial nerve with respect to an intra-parotid mass.
Methods: We performed an observational bicentric study from June 2019 to August 2020. All patients older than 18 years old, treated for a parotid mass with surgical indication, without MRI contraindication and who agreed to participate in the study were enrolled prospectively.

Purpose Of Review: To provide an overview of the recent scientific literature about ramp lesions of the medial meniscus and to summarise the current evidence on their prevalence, classification, biomechanics, surgical techniques and clinical outcomes.
Recent Findings: Ramp lesions may be present in more than 1 patient undergoing ACL reconstruction out of 5 and almost half of the medial meniscal tears observed in this population. Due to the risk of persistent anterior and rotational laxity after ACL reconstruction, their repair has been advocated.

Emergence of 5' terminally deleted coxsackievirus-B RNA forms (CVB-TD) have been associated with the development of human diseases. These CVB-TD RNA forms have been detected in mouse pancreas during acute or persistent experimental infections. To date, the impact of the replication activities of CVB-TD RNA forms on insulin metabolism remains unexplored.

One possible approach to reducing the environmental impacts associated with the building sector is the development and use of bio-based building materials. The objective of this study is to determine the water properties of bio-based insulation materials, derived from winegrowing co-products, which promote energy efficiency. The water performance of these new bio-based materials is based on the measurement of the moisture buffer value, the sorption isotherm, and the water vapor permeability.

Introduction: Nursing homes (NHs) are an ideal environment in which to implement interventions aimed at reducing inappropriate prescriptions. Quality indicators (QIs) may be useful to standardize practices, but it is unclear how they mediate change. In the framework of a quantitative study aimed at reducing the prescription of anticholinergic drugs among NH residents using QIs, we performed a qualitative study to describe the investigators' perception of the utility of QIs.

Introduction: Clinical presentations of small intestinal neuroendocrine neoplasms (SiNENs) can range from asymptomatic to life-threatening complications. Other than primary tumor(s), mesenteric mass (MM) can provide local tumor-related (LTR) symptoms. Although some expert centers propose routine primary resection to avoid complications in stage IV patients, some guidelines suggest avoiding primary tumor resection unless in the presence of symptoms.

We report here the first case of life-threatening hypomagnesemia in a Zollinger-Ellison syndrome patient with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1) syndrome. The severe symptomatic hypomagnesemia proved to be due to proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), but withdrawal of PPIs led to early severe peptic complications despite a substitution by histamine H2-receptor antagonist therapy. Simultaneous management of life-threatening hypomagnesemia, severe gastric acid hypersecretion and MEN1-associated gastrinomas was complex.
