This research was conducted to determine the concentration of heavy metals (Cu, Pb, and Ni) in the sediments as well as the gill and muscle tissue of Siganus javus and two species of algae (Padina australis and Sargassum vulgare) collected from the Persian Gulf coasts of Bushehr province, which were studied using standard laboratory methods. The general form and trend of metal uptake at different stations in the gill and muscle tissue was Cu > Ni > Pb. The results of the study of metal uptake in both algae showed that the uptake of all three metals was higher in Padina species (Pb ˂ Cu ˂ Ni).

A 2-week research was carried out to assess water salinity (WS) effects including 0, 15, 35, and 50‰ on osmoregulatory mechanisms and stress indices in Asian sea bass (34.4 g) juveniles. Except for fish reared at 50‰, in the other treatments, it gradually decreased to the prescribed WS during a 10-day period (- 5‰ a day).

The polysaccharide-fucoidan plays a fundamental role in shrimp aquaculture by being used as a natural immunostimulant and dietary supplementation. In this study, Cystoseira trinodis fucoidan (FCT) was extracted, its structure was determined using FT-IR analysis, and its effect of fucoidan on growth performance and WSSV resistance in Litopenaeus vannamei was evaluated. Four experimental diets, including the control (without FCT), 0.

Melatonin is the main hormone of seasonal breeding in sheep and goat which has an effect on reproductive organs via its receptors. Studies have shown that mutations in melatonin receptor 1A (MTNR1A) gene are related to litter size as well as the ovulation rate in sheep and goats. In this study, polymorphism of two loci in MTNR1A melatonin receptor gene was studied in order to survey their relationship with litter size in Markhoz goats.

The main objective of this study was to investigate the polymorphism of GDF9 and BMPR1B genes and their relationship with litter size in Markhoz goats. The polymorphism of GDF9 and BMPR1B genes as well-documented genes regarding fecundity in sheep and goat was investigated using RFLP-PCR and a tetra-primer amplification refractory mutation system-PCR (T-ARMS-PCR) in Markhoz goats. The 164 blood samples were collected from the raised goats in Sanandaj Markhoz goat Performance Testing Station.

Background: Milk proteins genes have been the focus of the researches as the candidate target genes that play a decisive role when animal breeding is desired.
Objectives: In the present study, the transcriptional levels of Beta-lactoglobulin () and Alpha S1 casein () genes were investigated during prenatal, milking and drying times in mammary glands of the Adani goats which showed high and low breeding values.
Materials And Methods: The breeding values of the animals were estimated first by applying multi-trait random regression model.
