Patients suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD) have higher ischemic and bleeding risk compared with patients with normal renal function. The aim of our systematic review and meta-analysis is to compare shortened (≤3 months) dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) with longer DAPT in patients with CKD undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions. We systematically screened three major databases (Medline, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Scopus) searching for randomized-controlled trials or subanalyses of them, which compared shortened (S-DAPT) to longer (L-DAPT) regimens of DAPT in patients with CKD.

Type II topoisomerases (TOP2s) resolve torsional stress accumulated during various cellular processes and are enriched at chromatin loop anchors and topologically associated domain (TAD) boundaries, where, when trapped, can lead to genomic instability promoting the formation of oncogenic fusions. Whether TOP2s relieve topological constraints at these positions and/or participate in 3D chromosome folding remains unclear. Here, we combine 3D genomics, imaging, and GapRUN, a method for the genome-wide profiling of positive supercoiling, to assess the role of TOP2s in shaping chromosome organization in human cells.

Kingella kingae is a cause of bacteremia, endocarditis, and the leading cause of osteoarticular infections between 6 and 48 months of life. We report on a rare case of K. kingae meningitis in the absence of endocarditis and immune deficiency in a 26-month-old boy emphasizing the distinct genomic determinants of the strain which may be of importance to the pathogenesis of the disease.

We describe a novel biosafety aerosol chamber equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation for bubble-bursting aerosol generation, size distribution measurement, and condensation-growth collection to minimize sampling artifacts when measuring virus infectivity in aerosol particles. Using this facility, we investigated the effect of relative humidity (RH) in very clean air without trace gases (except ∼400 ppm CO) on the preservation of influenza A virus (IAV) infectivity in saline aerosol particles. We characterized infectivity in terms of 99%-inactivation time, , a metric we consider most relevant to airborne virus transmission.

The design and use of synthetic communities, or SynComs, is one of the most promising strategies for disentangling the complex interactions within microbial communities, and between these communities and their hosts. Hydrocephalus is a common neurological condition, characterized by the excessive accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the cerebral ventricles.
