Objectives: To evaluate the impact of eight weeks of Pilates Method on physical fitness and sleep quality of individuals with post-COVID-19 syndrome.

Methods: Randomized clinical trial blinded conducted with fifty-nine individuals with post-COVID-19 syndrome. The participants were randomly allocated to the Pilates group (PG; n = 20), supervised physical exercise group (SPEG; n = 20) and control group (CG; n = 19).

Antibiotics and indomethacin as perioperative management for cerclage: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: Prematurity complications remain the leading cause of perinatal morbidity and mortality. Although cerclage shows promise in preventing preterm birth, it remains unclear whether perioperative management, such as the use of antibiotics or indomethacin, offers any additional benefit.

Study Desing: We conducted a systematic review and random-effects meta-analysis comparing the use of indomethacin, antibiotics, and their combination as perioperative management for cerclage versus cerclage alone.

Introduction: In the face of growing patient volumes, health requirements, and economic constraints, modern healthcare systems are in dire need of innovative management solutions. Despite a range of tools available to tackle these challenges, there's a gap in the understanding of how these tools are tailored for health systems management.

Background: Glycolic acid (GA) has been tested as enamel and dentin etchant, and final irrigant for smear layer removal. This study evaluated the effects of GA and ultrasonic activation (US) on smear layer removal, dentin penetration, dentin structure and bond strength of the root dentin filling material.

Material And Methods: The root canals of 210 teeth were distributed into four test groups: smear layer removal (N=50), dentin penetration (N=50), dentin structure (N=10) and bond strength (N=100).

The β-N-methylamino-L-alanine (BMAA) is a neurotoxin produced by cyanobacteria and diatoms and related by triggered neurodegeneration. The exposure to neurotoxins has also been reported by causing emotional and neuroendocrine effects and these effects may be sex-specific. However, the effects of BMAA on emotions and pain, as well as neuroendocrine modulations remain poorly understood.

Time to Surgery for Subaxial Cervical Fractures: A Multicenter Study.

Objective: To identify delays for surgery to stabilize subaxial cervical fractures and the main reasons for them across Latin America.

Methods: This is a retrospective multicenter cohort study of patients surgically treated for subaxial cervical fractures from 13 spine centers across Latin America from January 1, 2014 to January 1, 2023. Causes of delay to surgery beyond 24 hours were documented.

This work proposes an integrated production of whey protein concentrate (WPC) and lactose and the recovery of water from diafiltration (DF) steps. Whey protein and lactose can be concentrated using ultrafiltration and nanofiltration, respectively, and both can be purified using DF. However, DF uses three-fold the initial volume of whey.

Transgenerational effects of the levonorgestrel-based birth control pill in zebrafish offspring.

The consumption of hormone-derived medicines, such as levonorgestrel (LNG), is increasing worldwide, and its discharge into the environment reaches non-target organisms. In our previous study, we exposed the parental generation of zebrafish to environmentally relevant concentrations of LNG during the developmental phase. Subsequently, they had grown in a tank with clean water until adulthood.
