Background: Trichophyton mentagrophytes ITS genotype VII (TMVII) has recently been identified in France as the causative agent of dermatophyte infections transmitted during sexual activity among men who have sex with men (MSM).

Objectives: Our objective was to provide new insights into the epidemiology, clinical presentation and treatment of TMVII infections based on cases diagnosed from October 2022 to September 2023 in three medical mycology laboratories in Paris. Additionally, we aimed to perform molecular characterization of TMVII strains collected in Paris, as well as in Switzerland.

Recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) is a rare and most often severe genetic disease characterized by recurrent blistering and erosions of the skin and mucous membranes after minor trauma, leading to major local and systemic complications. The disease is caused by loss-of-function variants in encoding type VII collagen (C7), the main component of anchoring fibrils, which form attachment structures stabilizing the cutaneous basement membrane zone. Alterations in C7 protein structure and/or expression lead to abnormal, rare or absent anchoring fibrils resulting in loss of dermal-epidermal adherence and skin blistering.

This study compared outcomes after dUCBT and haplo-HCT using peripheral blood stem cells (PBSCs) in adult patients with AML in complete remission (CR) who underwent transplantation in European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT)-affiliated centers. In a population of adults with de novo AML in first or second CR, we compared outcomes after dUCBT (n = 165) and after haplo-PTCY PBSC (n = 544) performed between January 2013 and December 2018.

Remarkable improvements in outcomes for many haematological malignancies have been driven primarily by a proliferation of novel therapeutics over the past two decades. Targeted agents, immune and cellular therapies, and combination regimens have adverse event profiles distinct from conventional finite cytotoxic chemotherapies. In 2018, a Commission comprising patient advocates, clinicians, clinical investigators, regulators, biostatisticians, and pharmacists representing a broad range of academic and clinical cancer expertise examined issues of adverse event evaluation in the context of both newer and existing therapies for haematological cancers.

Steroid-Free Deep Remission at One Year Does Not Prevent Crohn's Disease Progression: Long-Term Data From the TAILORIX Trial.

Background & Aims: Crohn's disease (CD) patients included in the Tailored Treatment With Infliximab for Active Crohn's Disease (TAILORIX) trial started infliximab in combination with an immunosuppressant for 1 year. The aim of the present study was to determine the long-term disease course beyond the study period.

Methods: We compared the outcomes of patients who did or did not reach the primary end point of the TAILORIX trial, defined as sustained corticosteroid-free clinical remission from weeks 22 through 54, with no ulcers on ileocolonoscopy at week 54.

The impact of GVHD on outcomes after adult single cord blood transplantation in European and Japanese populations.

The impact of GVHD and graft-versus-leukemia effect in unrelated cord blood transplantation (UCBT) is controversial. In the Eurocord/ALWP EBMT and JSTCT/JDCHCT collaborative study, we evaluated the impact of GVHD on UCBT outcomes in Japanese and European registries. A total of 3,690 adult patients with acute leukemia who received their first single UCBT were included.

Dieticians' practices in intensive care: A national survey.

Background & Aims: A real public health problem, namely, malnutrition in the hospital, also concerns intensive care patients. The diagnosis and prevention of malnutrition are major issues in the multidisciplinary management of patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU). To our knowledge, few data describe dietary management in French ICUs, and few international scientific publications mention professional practices or how dieticians are integrated in this type of specialized and technical sector.
