Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a severe myeloid malignancy with limited therapeutic options. Single-cell analysis of clonal architecture demonstrates early clonal dominance with few residual WT hematopoietic stem cells. Circulating myeloid cells of the leukemic clone and the cytokines they produce generate a deleterious inflammatory climate.

HYCOs are hybrid molecules consisting of activators of the transcription factor Nrf2 conjugated to carbon monoxide (CO)-releasing moieties. These "dual action" compounds have been designed to mimic the activity of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), a stress inducible cytoprotective enzyme that degrades heme to CO which expression is regulated by Nrf2. HYCOs have recently shown efficacy in ameliorating experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), an animal model of multiple sclerosis.

To review the evolution of terminology describing the classification of lesions in neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) based on retinal imaging technologies. A review of the current and historical literature on imaging-guided classification of neovascularization in nAMD was performed. Imaging-guided classification of neovascularization in nAMD facilitates understanding of the pathological mechanisms and disease progression.

Skeletal muscle formation involves tight interactions between muscle cells and associated connective tissue fibroblasts. Every muscle displays the same type of organisation, they are innervated in the middle and attached at both extremities to tendons. Myonuclei are heterogeneous along myotubes and regionalised according to these middle and tip domains.

Aim And Methods: We conducted a retrospective observational study of the ATTRv heterozygous mutation frequency, phenotype, and all-cause mortality at two cardiac amyloidosis centers in Romania and France.
Results: 291 patients were included: 26 Glu54Gln (all Romanian), 200 Val122Ile, 47 Val30Met and 18 Ser77Tyr. On diagnosis, Gu54Gln patients were younger than Val122Ile or late-onset Val30Met (median age: 46 [42-50], 76 [71-80] and 70 [61-76], respectively; p < 0.

High-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) has become an indispensable tool in the characterization of organic aerosols (OA) providing information on air quality, health assessment, climate trends, reactions, and source apportionment. Spectra-derived lists of formulas and their relative abundances are used to compare ambient OA from different sources or to monitor secondary OA formation under controlled laboratory conditions in smog chamber experiments. Various techniques are implemented to visualize common and unique features, series of precursors, and products.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a frequent and disabling condition, with many patients being treatment-resistant. Improved understanding of its neurobiology is vital for better therapies. Evidence is still conflicting regarding specific serotonergic-related dysfunctions in OCD.

One hundred and twenty CML patients, 105 in chronic phase (CP), 8 in accelerated phase (AP) and 7 in blastic phase (BP) were included. Fifty-one (49%) of the CP-CML patients were in third line of treatment.

Background & Aims: Breast cancer is the most common malignancy observed in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The aim of our study was to evaluate incident cancer rate (recurrence or new-onset cancer) in a cohort of patients with IBD with a history of breast cancer according to the subsequent IBD treatment provided.
Methods: A multicenter retrospective study included consecutive patients with IBD with prior breast cancer.

Background And Purpose: Chlormadinone acetate (CMA) is a synthetic progestin for which cases of intracranial meningioma have been reported following prolonged exposure.
Method: An observational cohort study was conducted based on the French national health data system. Women aged 10-70 years and who started CMA between 2007 and 2017 were included.

Although specific risk factors for brain alterations in bipolar disorders (BD) are currently unknown, obesity impacts the brain and is highly prevalent in BD. Gray matter correlates of obesity in BD have been well documented, but we know much less about brain white matter abnormalities in people who have both obesity and BD. We obtained body mass index (BMI) and diffusion tensor imaging derived fractional anisotropy (FA) from 22 white matter tracts in 899 individuals with BD, and 1287 control individuals from 20 cohorts in the ENIGMA-BD working group.

Adult autoimmune haemolytic anaemias (AIHAs) include different subtypes of a rare autoimmune disease in which autoantibodies targeting autoantigens expressed on the membrane of autologous red blood cells (RBCs) are produced, leading to their accelerated destruction. In the presence of haemolytic anaemia, the direct antiglobulin test is the cornerstone of AIHA diagnosis. AIHAs are classified according to the isotype and the thermal optimum of the autoantibody into warm (wAIHAs), cold and mixed AIHAs.

The microwave spectrum of 2,3-dimethylfuran was investigated using a Fourier-transform microwave spectrometer under supersonic expansion. The molecule possesses two inequivalent methyl internal rotors, causing the splitting of each rotational transition into five torsional species. A total of 337 torsional transitions were assigned and fitted in a global fit with the program XIAM, where accurate and physically meaningful geometry and internal rotation parameters could be deduced.

Importance: Defining meaningful improvement using the Total Vitiligo Area Scoring Index (T-VASI) and the Facial VASI (F-VASI) aids interpretation of findings from clinical trials evaluating vitiligo treatments; however, clear and clinically meaningful thresholds have not yet been established.
Objective: To assess concept validity and measurement performance of the T-VASI and F-VASI in patients with nonsegmental vitiligo and to identify meaningful change thresholds.
Design, Settings, And Participants: This mixed-methods study consisted of a secondary analysis of a phase 2 multicenter double-blind dose-ranging randomized clinical trial and embedded qualitative interviews conducted at 35 sites in Canada, France, Japan, and the US.

Transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR) is a severe and rare disease characterized by the progressive deposition of misfolded transthyretin proteins, causing irreversible organ damage. Transthyretin amyloidosis can present as a hereditary ATTR or acquired wild-type ATTR form. Genetic testing is critical for determining a hereditary predisposition and subsequently initiating appropriate family screening.

Childhood adversity is associated with various clinical dimensions in psychosis; however, how genetic vulnerability shapes the adversity-associated psychopathological signature is yet to be studied. We studied data of 583 First Episode Psychosis (FEP) cases from the EU-GEI FEP case-control study, including Polygenic risk scores for major depressive disorder (MDD-PRS), bipolar disorder (BD-PRS) and schizophrenia (SZ-PRS); childhood adversity measured with the total score of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ); and positive, negative, depressive and manic psychopathological domains from a factor model of transdiagnostic dimensions. Genes and environment interactions were explored as a departure from a multiplicative effect of PRSs and total CTQ on each dimension.
