Context: Racial inequalities across social determinants of health (SDOHs) are often influenced by discriminatory policies that reinforce systems that further uphold these disparities. There is limited data describing the influence of food insecurity (FI) on childhood racial discrimination.

Study Objective: Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination is proven to reduce the risk of HPV-associated cancers and lesions. Factors associated with HPV vaccine receipt or rejection have been studied, but specific maternal characteristics driving uptake among teens requires further investigation. The aim of this study was to examine maternal characteristics influencing teen vaccine uptake and intent to vaccinate.

Seeking personal well-being and life satisfaction during a global pandemic can be daunting, such is the case for early care and education teachers who were considered non-health care essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The potential changes in their physical activity, along with their overall physical and psychological well-being, may have ultimately influenced their life satisfaction. These changes included the potential for increased sedentary behaviors.

Food banks (FBs) and their partner agencies play important food access roles in nearly every US community. While FB missions have historically emphasized hunger alleviation, stakeholders are increasingly expressing interest in leveraging these community assets to promote health. We conducted semi-structured interviews with US FB executives (n=30) to explore their perspectives on the evolving role of FBs in community health, and how these perspectives relate to organizational efforts to distribute healthier foods, including fruits and vegetables (F&V).

Objective: To describe the design, implementation, and consumer response to a coupon-style intervention aimed to increase Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) use at a farmers' market (FM) among Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) participants.
Design: A quasi-experimental trial to evaluate redemption response to 2 coupon interventions; baseline surveys characterized coupon redeemers and non-redeemers.

Getting students to complete reading assignments is often a source of frustration for nurse educators. Monte Carlo Quizzes (MCQs) were adapted for online delivery in a hybrid nursing course to encourage timely completion and deep processing of readings. Students indicated that MCQs motivated them to complete the assigned readings and to read more carefully.

Reduction of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) concentration has become the primary goal and a standard of care in the practice of cholesterol management. The 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitors, or statins, are the most frequently prescribed lipid lowering agents on the market. As more information is learned through the results of clinical trials, LDL goals become more stringent and difficult to attain.
