In order to address the issues of wettability and scattering between matrix and reinforcement and enhance corrosion resistance, the effects of incorporating hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) into magnesium-carbon nanotubes (Mg-0.5 wt% CNTs) nanocomposites were successfully investigated. An inventive coating with h-BN using a novel electroless chemical deposition technique and double stir casting were used.

The energy landscape concept offers a framework to explore the relationship between landscape characteristics and energy expenditure, enhancing our understanding of animal movement. Although the energy landscape approach solely considers the topographic obstacles faced by animals, its suitability compared to previous methods for constructing resistance maps and delineating corridors has not been comprehensively examined.

Plant extracts used as corrosion inhibitor for mild steel usually degrade as the temperature increases above room temperature. In this study, we used (cashew leaf) extract to synthesize silver nanoparticles for improving mild steel's inhibition stability under salinized conditions. Cashew leaves were used as a reducing agent to synthesise silver nanoparticles.

Stem cell-derived organoids, these miniature organ replicas, have become essential tools for disease modeling, drug discovery, and regenerative medicine. However, analyzing the vast and intricate datasets generated from these organoids can be inefficient and error-prone.

The Magellanic sub-Antarctic Forest is home to the world's southernmost avian community and is the only Southern Hemisphere analogue to Northern Hemisphere temperate forests at this latitude. This region is considered among the few remaining pristine areas of the world, and shifts in environmental conditions are predominantly driven by climate variability. Thus, understanding climate-driven demographic processes is critical for addressing conservation issues in this system under future climate change scenarios.

The learning objectives of two games included awareness and knowledge of NASA missions, developing knowledge and skills of measurement and scaling, applying measurement for planetary comparisons in the solar system. Trace data from 1361 interactions were analysed with nonparametric multidimensional scaling methods, which permitted visual examination and statistical validation, and provided an example and proof of concept for the multidimensional scaling approach to analysis of time-based behavioural data from a game or simulation.

It produces both - and glycosylated isoflavones, with puerarin (-glucosyl daidzein) as an important bioactive compound. Currently, the stage of the isoflavone pathway at which the glycosyl unit is added remains unclear, with a recent report of direct glycosylation of daidzein contradicting earlier labeling studies supporting glycosylation at the level of chalcone.

Identifying genes that interact to confer a biological function to an organism is one of the main goals of functional genomics. High-throughput technologies for assessment and quantification of genome-wide gene expression patterns have enabled systems-level analyses to infer pathways or networks of genes involved in different functions under many different conditions. Here, we leveraged the publicly available, information-rich RNA-Seq datasets of the model plant to construct a gene co-expression network, which was partitioned into clusters or modules that harbor genes correlated by expression.

Consumer responses to the COVID-19 pandemic have varied widely. Thus, marketers need to understand consumer segments based on pandemic-related responses and behaviors. Through two studies conducted 9 months apart, we find that consumers shift from three segments in Study 1-the Apprehensive, the Prepared, and the Dismissive, to two segments in Study 2-the Dedicated and the Dismissive.

The greatest challenge for many organizations today is not the acquisition, organization, and storage of information, but rather the ability to transform such information into useful knowledge as well as the application and measurement of it. This paper discusses effective knowledge transfer in a training environment and the inherent limitations in using only quantitative measures as a tool of knowledge transfer measurement. By examining the measurement tool of a major U.

In this work, by performing first-principles calculations, we explore the effects of various atom impurities on the electronic and magnetic properties of single layers of CN and CN. Our results indicate that atom doping may significantly modify the electronic properties. Surprisingly, doping Cr into a holey site of CN monolayer was found to exhibit a narrow band gap of 125 meV upon compression strain, considering the spin-orbit coupling effect.
