The vacuum breakdown by 10-PW-class lasers is studied in the optimal configuration of laser beams in the form of an m-dipole wave, which maximizes the magnetic field. Using 3D PIC simulations we calculated the threshold of vacuum breakdown, which is about 10 PW. We examined in detail the dynamics of particles and identified particle trajectories which contribute the most to vacuum breakdown in such highly inhomogeneous fields.

We explore the dynamics of an adiabatic neural cell of a perceptron artificial neural network in a quantum regime. This mode of cell operation is assumed for a hybrid system of a classical neural network whose configuration is dynamically adjusted by a quantum co-processor. Analytical and numerical studies take into account non-adiabatic processes as well as dissipation, which leads to smoothing of quantum coherent oscillations.

The search for efficient technologies empowering the selective capture of environmentally harmful heavy metals from wastewater treatment plants, at affordable prices, attracts wide interest but constitutes an important technological challenge. We report here an eco-friendly single-walled carbon nanotube buckypaper (SWCNT-BP) enriched with a multivariate amino acid-based metal-organic framework (MTV-MOF) for the efficient and selective removal of Pb in multicomponent water systems. Particles moving in current sheets under extreme conditions, such as those in the vicinity of pulsars or those predicted on upcoming multipetawatt laser facilities, may be subject to significant radiation losses. We present an analysis of particle motion in model fields of a relativistic neutral electron-positron current sheet in the case when radiative effects must be accounted for. In the Landau-Lifshitz radiation reaction force model, when quantum effects are negligible, an analytical solution for particle trajectories is derived.

Amphiphilic random and diblock thermoresponsive oligo(ethylene glycol)-based (co)polymers were synthesized via photoiniferter polymerization under visible light using trithiocarbonate as a chain transfer agent. The effect of solvent, light intensity and wavelength on the rate of the process was investigated. It was shown that blue and green LED light could initiate RAFT polymerization of macromonomers without an exogenous initiator at room temperature, giving bottlebrush polymers with low dispersity at sufficiently high conversions achieved in 1-2 h.

Lemon wormwood was recently introduced to southern Russia as a new aromatic plant. Based on biological and chemical characteristics, several populations with dominant citral, linalool, and geraniol production were selected for further development and maintained by seed propagation. Chemical analysis of five outstanding populations at three stages of annual development: vegetative, flower buds, and full flowering, confirmed that the seed populations retain the distinct dynamics of the dominant and minor components during the annual cycle and can be used for the commercial production of citral, linalool, and geraniol.

The Aim Of The Study: We compare the effectiveness of multimodal optical coherence tomography (MM OCT) in the traditional structural OCT mode and the OCT elastography (OCE) mode in addressing two clinically important tasks: (1) detecting groups of tumor cells at surgical margins during breast-сonserving surgery (BСS) in breast cancer (BC) and (2) identifying breast tumor margins. The obtained results were correlated with corresponding histological sections.

In this review, we discuss the pathogenesis of some socially significant diseases associated with the development of oxidative stress, such as atherosclerosis, diabetes, and radiation sickness, as well as the possibilities of the therapeutic application of low-molecular-weight natural and synthetic antioxidants for the correction of free radical-induced pathologies. The main focus of this review is the role of two phylogenetically close families of hydroperoxide-reducing antioxidant enzymes peroxiredoxins and glutathione peroxidases - in counteracting oxidative stress. We also present examples of the application of exogenous recombinant antioxidant enzymes as therapeutic agents in the treatment of pathologies associated with free-radical processes and discuss the prospects of the therapeutic use of exogenous antioxidant enzymes, as well as the ways to improve their therapeutic properties.
