Point-of-Care Ultrasound Attitudes, Barriers, and Current Use Among Family Medicine Residents and Practicing Physicians.

Introduction: Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) has high interest among learners and educators, but many barriers inhibit training and clinical use. Interest and barriers may differ between educators, trainees, and practicing physicians. This study investigates interest in POCUS, confidence in POCUS skills, and barriers to POCUS use for residents, academic family physicians, and community providers.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Disease Severity: Pregnant vs Nonpregnant Women at 82 Facilities.

Background: Pregnancy has been reported to be a risk factor for severe COVID-19. We evaluated the impact of pregnancy on severe COVID-19 and mortality in an electronic medical record (EMR) database that enabled exclusion of labor and delivery (L&D) encounters.

Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, EMRs from 82 healthcare facilities in the Cerner COVID-19 Datamart were analyzed.

A qualitative study of parental preferences for postcircumcision care education.

Introductionr/background: Although uncommon, complications associated with newborn male circumcision may require costly and emotionally upsetting surgical revisions. Improvements in parental education regarding postcircumcision care may reduce preventable complications; however, little is known about parents' preferences for education of this type.

Objective: The authors sought to describe parents' preferences regarding the content and delivery of education on postcircumcision care as a first step toward improving parental education and ultimately reducing the need for surgical revisions.
