Purpose: To report and discuss the incidence of severe lower extremity injuries associated with robotic procedures in Trendelenburg with lithotomy position.
Design And Methods: A case study method was used to describe three cases of patients who underwent robotically assisted urological procedures in Trendelenburg with lithotomy position and developed serious lower extremities injuries resulting in fasciotomies. Furthermore, a literature review was conducted to evaluate risk factors and possible interventions for the prevention of similar injuries.

HIV infection during pregnancy, may present risk of developing depression during pregnancy and postpartum. This psychiatric mood disorder, and many others such as anxiety and HIV-related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) have been reported prevalent among pregnant and non-pregnant women living with HIV (WLWH). Multiple studies have found associations between social determinants of health and depressive symptoms in this population.

Delirium in the intensive care unit (ICU) affects up to 80% of critically ill, mechanically ventilated (MV) adults. Delirium is associated with substantial negative outcomes, including increased hospital complications and long-term effects on cognition and health status in ICU survivors. The purpose of this randomized controlled trial is to test the effectiveness of a Family Automated Voice Reorientation (FAVoR) intervention on delirium among critically ill MV patients.

Background: Adults with chronic conditions are disproportionately burdened by COVID-19 morbidity and mortality. Although COVID-19 mobile health (mHealth) apps have emerged, research on attitudes toward using COVID-19 mHealth tools among those with chronic conditions is scarce.
Objective: This study aimed to examine attitudes toward COVID-19, identify determinants of COVID-19 mHealth tool use across demographic and health-related characteristics, and evaluate associations between chronic health conditions and attitudes toward using COVID-19 mHealth tools (eg, mHealth or web-based methods for tracking COVID-19 exposures, symptoms, and recommendations).

Background: Despite strong prevention efforts and advances in neonatal care in recent decades, low birth weight remains a serious public health problem in the United States, and survivors remain at increased risk for lifelong problems including cognitive deficits. Current regional and local strategies for referral often rely on variable thresholds for birth weight and gestational age that may be poor analogues to cognitive risk. Improving early referral criteria offers many benefits, including improved cognitive outcomes for children and improved cost-effectiveness and resource utilization in resource-limited communities.

The Rapid Ultrasound for Shock and Hypotension (RUSH) examination is used for patients with hypotension without clear cause or undifferentiated hypotension. In the emergency department setting, clinicians may perform the RUSH examination to supplement the physical assessment and differentiate the diagnosis of hypovolemic, obstructive, cardiogenic, and distributive forms of shock. The key elements of the RUSH examination are the pump, tank, and pipes, meaning potentially causes of the hypotension are examined within the heart, vascular volume and integrity, and the vessels themselves.

Approximately one in three women in the United States deliver via Cesarean section (CS), making it one of the most common surgical procedures in the country. Neuraxial (spinal or epidural) anesthesia is the most effective and common anesthetic approach for pain relief during a CS in the United States and often associated with adverse effects such as nausea, vomiting, and pruritus. While recommended dose ranges exist to protect patient safety, there are a lack of guidelines for opioid doses that both optimize postoperative pain management and minimize side effects.

In a crossover design, 26 students were randomly assigned into 2 groups: US only and CAIG. Performance was assessed using a task-specific checklist survey tool and a global rating scale to assess performance.

Despite innovative modalities, transurethral resection (TUR) procedures are the primary surgical intervention for bladder tumor and enlarged prostate. TUR syndrome, a major complication of TUR procedures, leads to derangement in electrolytes, hemodynamic compromise, and possible cardiac arrest. This case report describes cardiovascular collapse in a 60-year-old male during TUR of a bladder tumor under general anesthesia.
