Introduction: Water Jet Ablation Therapy (WJAT) and Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) represent two common surgical treatments for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). Despite their increasing use, there is no study between these two methods. We aim to evaluate their efficacy and safety through a network meta-analysis (NMA), providing critical insights for clinical decision-making in the management of moderate to severe lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to BPH.

Hearing loss is the most common sensory defect in humans, affecting normal communication. In most cases, hearing loss is a multifactorial disorder caused by both genetic and environmental factors, but single-gene mutations can lead to syndromic or non-syndromic hearing loss. Monoallelic variants in , coding for gamma (γ)-actin, are associated with classical Baraitser-Winter Syndrome type 2 (BRWS2, nonsyndromic deafness, and a variety of clinical presentations not fitting the original BRWS2 description or nonsyndromic deafness.

This work aims to identify a mechanism of interaction between soil moisture (SM) state and the incidence of weakly forced synoptic scale MCS events during boreal summer by performing a sensitivity study using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model over the US Great Plains. A uniformly dry SM patch at a 5° × 5° scale is centered at the point of a documented MCS initiation to observe spatiotemporal changes of the simulated MCS events, totaling 97 cases between 2004 and 2017. A storm-centered composite analysis of SM at the location of simulated MCS events depicted SM heterogeneity [O(100) km] structured as significantly drier soils to the southwest (SW) transitioning to wetter soils northeast (NE) of the mean simulated initiation.

Bonnethead sharks ()-a small coastal hammerhead species-demonstrate site fidelity, as females are philopatric while males migrate to mediate gene flow. Consequently, bonnetheads demonstrate population divergence with distance, and Atlantic populations are genetically distinct from those of the Gulf of Mexico.

Objectives: We aim to compare efficacy and safety of water vapour therapy (Rezūm), transurethral needle ablation (TUNA) and transurethral microwave therapy (TUMT) for treating men with moderate to severe benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms.
Materials: PubMed/MEDLINE, EMBASE and Cochrane Library were searched from inception to 30 July 2023, followed by reference searching and dual-independent study selection. We analysed only randomized clinical trials.
Introduction: Commercially available plasma p-tau217 biomarker tests are not well studied in ethnically diverse samples.
Methods: We evaluated associations between ALZPath plasma p-tau217 and amyloid-beta positron emission tomography (Aβ-PET) in Hispanic/Latino (88% of Cuban or South American ancestry) and non-Hispanic/Latino older adults. One- and two-cutoff ranges were derived and evaluated to assess agreement with Aβ-PET.
Objective: In patients undergoing hypoglossal nerve stimulation (HGNS), we examined the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) to understand how baseline sleep onset insomnia (SOI), sleep maintenance insomnia (SMI), and early morning awakening (EMA) affected postsurgical outcomes.
Study Design: Observational.
Setting: Multicenter registry.

The microbiota residing in the gut environment is essential for host homeostasis. Increasing evidence suggests that microbial perturbation (dysbiosis) regulates cancer initiation and progression at local and distant sites. Here, we have identified microbial dysbiosis with the depletion of commensal bacteria as a host-intrinsic factor associated with metastatic dissemination to the bone.

Understanding the tumor microenvironment and genomic landscape is crucial for better prediction of treatment outcomes and developing novel therapies in Hodgkin lymphoma (HL). Recent advancements in genomics have enabled researchers to gain deeper insights into the genomic characteristics of HL at both single-cell resolution and the whole genome level. The use of noninvasive methods such as liquid biopsies and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded-based imaging techniques has expanded the possibilities of applying cutting-edge analyses to routine clinically available samples.
