Mercury (Hg) is a global pollutant of concern, and its transport and transformation are controlled by various environmental factors, with aquatic particles being an important driver. Understanding the interactions between silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and Hg under dark condition is a prerequisite for studying the extent of AgNPs interaction with light and its participation in Hg biogeochemical cycling. Methods: Using PhotoVoice workshops and ethnographic observations, the project describes how women affiliated with a local community-based organization described the priorities for disaster recovery in visual images and narratives. Using the United States Department of Energy's Hanford 100-HRD area well data, recurrent neural networks are trained in the form of one-dimensional Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) networks, and Dual-stage Attention-based LSTM (DA-LSTM) networks to reduce monitoring costs and increase data sampling responsiveness that is subject to laboratory analysis delays, with the best network being DA-LSTM achieving an R score of 0.82.

This study assessed the impact of race and ethnicity on longitudinal test variability and time to detect glaucoma progression using standard automated perimetry (SAP) and optical coherence tomography (OCT). The sample consisted of 47,003 SAP tests from 5402 eyes and 25,480 OCT tests from 4125 eyes, with 20% of participants self-identifying as Black or African American and 80% as White; 29% as Hispanic or Latino and 71% as Not Hispanic or Latino. Variability was measured using standard deviations of residuals from linear regression models for SAP mean deviation (MD) and OCT retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness over time.

Background: As air travel and immobility are risk factors for venous thromboembolism, we aimed to test the hypothesis that internationally transferred trauma patients have a high incidence of venous thromboembolism on arrival.

Methods: A prospectively maintained registry of all international transferred trauma patients who presented to our level I trauma center from January 2023 to June 2024 was retrospectively reviewed. Patients with either lower extremity venous duplex ultrasound or computed tomography scan of the chest with contrast on arrival were included.
