Nodular fasciitis is a benign tumor of soft tissues originating from the proliferation of fibroblasts and myofibroblasts, generally developing between the subcutaneous tissue and the underlying muscular layer. Nodular fasciitis predominantly localizes in the upper extremities, trunk, head and neck. Biomolecular and immunohistochemical analyses result essential to demonstrate the benign origin of the process, also confirmed by very low recurrence rate after complete excision, which represents the gold standard for treatment.

Introduction: Endometrial cancer (EC) is the most common gynecological cancer. Sentinel lymph node (SLN) technique has been adopted worldwide and showed lower morbidity and superimposable survival outcomes than the systematic lymphadenectomy (LND). Although these encouraging results, no meta-analyzes were performed on surgical complications during SLN research among patients undergoing laparoscopic (L) versus robotic surgery (R).

The awareness of citizens concerning the health risks caused by environmental pollution is growing, but studies on determinants of pro-environmental behaviors have rarely examined health-related aspects. In this study, we investigated these determinants using data from a large survey among Italian university students (15 Universities: 4778 filled questionnaires). Besides the health-related aspects, represented by environmental health risk perception and functional health literacy, we considered social and demographic characteristics (gender, area of residence, sources of information, trust in institutional and non-institutional subjects, and students' capacity of positive actions, indicated as internal locus of control).

: Knee osteoarthritis (KO) is one of the most common joint diseases, determining knee pain and reduction of mobility, with a negative effect on quality of life. Intra-articular injections of different formulations of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) are an increasingly common non-surgical treatment for KO. Recently, in order to combine the anti-inflammatory effect of platelet rich plasma and the viscosupplementation effect of hyaluronic acid, a formulation of PRP combined with hyaluronic acid (PRP + HA) has been proposed.

Patient report outcome measures in Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) represent a potential complement to observer rated scales which can be used to better understand treatment response. We developed, translated and validated an Italian version of the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Health Index (SMAHI), a disease-specific, patient reported outcome measure questionnaire, designed to estimate the patients' perception of disease burden. Test-retest reliability was assessed in 37 patients (16 children aged 12-17 and 21 adults) and was excellent in both cohorts.

Chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIPO) is a severe form of gastrointestinal dysmotility (often due to derangement of the innervation and/or smooth muscle and/or interstitial cells of Cajal) with recurrent episodes of intestinal sub-occlusion. We describe a clinical setting and radiological features of CIPO in an 11-year-old girl with periodic relapses. Our attention was focused firstly on surgical causes, leading to a delay in the diagnosis; thus, is important detecting equivocal symptoms and considering the possible correlation to the CIPO for an early diagnosis and related prevention of acute episodes improving prognosis and quality of life of pediatric patients.

Introduction: Some evidence indicates that exogenous surfactant therapy may be effective in infants with acute viral bronchiolitis, even though more confirmatory data are needed. To date, no large multicentre trials have evaluated the effectiveness and safety of exogenous surfactant in severe cases of bronchiolitis requiring invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV).
Methods And Analysis: This is a multicentre randomised, placebo-controlled, double-blind study, performed in 19 Italian paediatric intensive care units (PICUs).
