The dromedary camel () in Saudi Arabia exhibits significant genetic diversity, driven by adaptation to diverse ecological niches such as deserts, mountains, and coastal areas. This study explores the genetic structure of these camel populations, correlating their genetic diversity with geographical regions rather than ecological classifications. Through whole-genome sequencing of 63 camel genomes, we identified substantial differences in heterozygosity and inbreeding across different ecotypes, particularly noting higher genetic diversity in mountainous populations and lower diversity in coastal populations.

In this article, we provide a review of large B-cell lymphomas (LBCLs), comparing the recently published fifth edition of the WHO classification and the International Consensus Classification (ICC) on hematolymphoid tumors. We focus on updates in the classification of LBCL, an heterogeneous group of malignancies with varying clinical behaviors and different pathological and molecular features, providing a comparison between the two classifications. Besides the well-recognized diagnostic role of clinical, morphological and immunohistochemical data, both classifications recognize the ever-growing impact of molecular data in the diagnostic work-up of some entities.

We study by molecular dynamics simulations the absorption of polypropylene (PP) chains within a dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) lipid membrane in aqueous solvent. DPPC represents the most abundant phospholipid in biological membranes, while PP is one of the most common synthetic polymers diffused in the anthropic environment. By following in detail the absorption process, and the corresponding structural modification undergone by the membrane, we show how the initial configuration and the PP molecular weight determine the overall behavior of the system.

Introduction: Surgical-related injuries are frequent, in fact the reported percentage of musculoskeletal disorders in surgeons is between 47% and 87%. These conditions are caused by long periods of standing, incorrect postures, repeated movements, little rest between operations, the lack of integrated operator rooms, the correct number and arrangement of monitors and the use of non-ergonomic instruments. This survey aims to assess the Italian overview both highlighting how prevalent surgical-related injury is in our surgeons and whether there is an operating room ergonomics education program in Italian surgical specialty schools.

Breeding animals able to effectively respond to stress could be a long-term, sustainable, and affordable strategy to improve resilience and welfare in livestock systems. In the present study, the concentrations of 29 plasma biomarkers were used as candidate endophenotypes for metabolic stress response in single-SNP, gene- and haplotype-based GWAS using 739 healthy lactating Italian Holstein cows and 88,271 variants. Significant genetic associations were found in all the 3 GWAS approaches for plasma γ-glutamyl transferase concentration on BTA17, for paraoxonase on BTA4, and for alkaline phosphatase and zinc on BTA2.

This paper describes a novel architecture that aims to create a template for the implementation of an IT platform, supporting the deployment and integration of the different digital twin subsystems that compose a complex urban intelligence system. In more detail, the proposed Smart City IT architecture has the following main purposes: (i) facilitating the deployment of the subsystems in a cloud environment; (ii) effectively storing, integrating, managing, and sharing the huge amount of heterogeneous data acquired and produced by each subsystem, using a data lake; (iii) supporting data exchange and sharing; (iv) managing and executing workflows, to automatically coordinate and run processes; and (v) to provide and visualize the required information. A prototype of the proposed IT solution was implemented leveraging open-source frameworks and technologies, to test its functionalities and performance.
