Question the promise: validating the interprofessional attitudes scale in Vietnamese health students.

The Interprofessional Attitudes Scale (IPAS) is a promising tool for assessing interprofessional education (IPE) attitudes, especially in community-oriented initiatives. To meet the need for validated IPE tools in Vietnam, we translated the IPAS into Vietnamese (Viet-IPAS) and evaluated its psychometric properties. The preparatory phases included forward and backward translation, expert consultations, and student feedback, resulting in strong content validity, face validity, linguistic comprehensibility, and test-retest reliability.

Improving the Prioritization of Heart Transplantation Candidates for Optimal Clinical Outcomes: A Narrative Review.

Purpose Of Review: This narrative review evaluates the limitations of current heart transplantation allocation models, which prioritize medical urgency and waitlist time but fail to adequately predict long-term post-transplant outcomes. It aims to identify advanced metrics that can strengthen the prioritization framework while addressing persistent racial, geographic, and socioeconomic inequities in access to transplantation.

Recent Findings: Recent research indicates that incorporating frailty, nutritional status, immunological compatibility, and pulmonary hemodynamics into allocation frameworks can enhance the prediction of transplant outcomes.

Immunohistochemical Evaluation of Basal and Luminal Markers in Bladder Cancer: A Study from a Single Institution.

Background: Bladder cancer (BC) presents significant molecular diversity, which affects both prognosis and treatment results. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) facilitates the identification of molecular subtypes and their relationships with clinicopathological features.

Methods: We performed an IHC analysis on tissue samples from 107 BC patients, evaluating the expression of markers GATA3, CD44, CK5/6, and CK20.

Malignant transformation of a mature teratoma in the duodenum: A case report.

Introduction: Mature teratomas of the duodenum are extremely rare, with only five cases reported in the English literature and none documented in Vietnam. Malignant transformation within a mature teratoma presents a challenging scenario for diagnosis and management, requiring a nuanced approach to treatment.

Presentation Of Case: We report the first documented case of malignant transformation in a duodenal mature teratoma in Vietnam.

The COVID-19 pandemic posed a threat to global society. Delta and Omicron are concerning variants due to the risk of increasing human-to-human transmissibility and immune evasion. This study aims to evaluate the binding ability of these variants toward the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 receptor and antibodies using a computational approach.

Health-related Quality of Life Among Comorbidity Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension.

Background: Evaluating the Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) in patients with hypertension and diabetes is vital for improving treatment adherence and outcomes.

Objective: This study assessed HRQoL and its influencing factors among patients with both type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension at Can Tho Hospital, Vietnam.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed on 310 outpatients at the polyclinic, using the Short Form-36 Health Survey (SF-36) between July 2021 and July 2022.

Translation, Cultural Adaptation, and Validation of the Vietnamese Version of the Vocal Fatigue Index.

Objectives: The Vocal Fatigue Index (VFI) is widely used to identify vocal fatigue, but no Vietnamese version exists. This study aimed to translate the VFI into Vietnamese and evaluate its reliability and validity among primary school teachers in Vietnam.

We detail the synthesis and systemic functions of bile acids, their transformation by gut microbiota, and their impact across various neuropsychiatric disorders, including major depressive disorder, general anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, and bipolar disorder.

Influence of supporting teeth quantity of surgical guide on the accuracy of the immediate implant in the maxillary central incisor: an in vitro study.

Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic T cell-mediated inflammatory mucosal disease of unknown etiology. The lack of suitable animal models has hampered understanding of its etiopathogenesis. This study aimed to clarify the contribution of bacterial infection and zinc deficiency (ZD) in OLP pathogenesis by developing a murine model.

Development and validation of a gonadotropin dose selection model for optimized ovarian stimulation in IVF/ICSI: an individual participant data meta-analysis.

Background: The ovarian response to gonadotropin stimulation varies widely among women, and could impact the probability of live birth as well as treatment risks. Many studies have evaluated the impact of different gonadotropin starting doses, mainly based on predictive variables like ovarian reserve tests (ORT) including anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), antral follicle count (AFC), and basal follicle-stimulating hormone (bFSH). A Cochrane systematic review revealed that individualizing the gonadotropin starting dose does not affect efficacy in terms of ongoing pregnancy/live birth rates, but may reduce treatment risks such as the development of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).

The correlation between anatomy features of impacted mandibular third molars (M3Ms) and prevalence of pericoronitis was only interpreted using univariate analysis. This study investigated this correlation using multivariable analysis to determine the relationship between pericoronitis prevalence and the M3Ms' anatomical features. This cross-sectional study recruited 245 patients with 338 impacted M3Ms.

Rare occurrence of triple primary malignant tumors: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, lung adenocarcinoma and papillary thyroid carcinoma in a patient with genetic evaluation.

Triple primary malignancies are rare, involving the occurrence of three distinct, unrelated cancers in a single patient, requiring a personalized, multidisciplinary treatment approach. A 69-year-old male was diagnosed with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP), lung adenocarcinoma, and papillary thyroid carcinoma. After amputation for DFSP, following staging and genetic evaluation, a multidisciplinary tumor board designed a tailored treatment plan, adjuvant chemotherapy for lung adenocarcinoma while monitor regularly the thyroid carcinoma via ultrasound.

STABLE trial of spectacle provision and driving safety among myopic motorcycle users in Vietnam: study protocol for a stepped-wedge, cluster randomised trial.

Background: Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death globally for people aged 5-29 years, with 90% of mortality occurring in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The STABLE (Slashing Two-wheeled Accidents by Leveraging Eyecare) trial was designed to determine whether providing spectacles could reduce risk among young myopic motorcycle users in Vietnam.

Methods: This investigator-masked, stepped-wedge, cluster randomised naturalistic driving trial will recruit 625 students aged 18-23 years, driving ≥ 50 km/week, with ≥ 1-year driving experience and using motorcycles as their primary means of transport, in 25 clusters of 25 students in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Understanding the impact of exposure to air pollution on children's health is critical for developing effective child health protection policies. Alveolar macrophage black carbon (AMBC) provides an indicator of personal exposure to air pollution. Hence, we aimed to examine air pollution exposure and its effects on children by measuring AMBC area and inflammatory cytokines in sputum.

Endovascular occlusion of vertebro-vertebral arteriovenous fistula using detachable balloons: A case report.

Vertebro-vertebral arteriovenous fistula (VV-AVF) is an uncommon vascular disorder characterized by an abnormal direct connection between the extracranial vertebral artery (VA), as well as the first and second branches of subclavian arteries, and the draining veins of the paravertebral venous plexus. Endovascular occlusion or surgical ligation of the high-flow arteriovenous fistula is the main goal of treatment for VV-AVF, but there are no guidelines for the best treatment to date. Endovascular treatment is the primary treatment procedure due to its safety, effectiveness, and simplicity.

Long-term follow-up after acute mercury poisoning-induced pneumonitis following cinnabar heating: A rare case report.

Rationale: Among 3 forms of mercury, elemental mercury vapor presents the highest threat due to its potential to cause acute pneumonitis. The management of acute mercury vapor poisoning remains unclear, particularly in acute lung injury. We present a case of mercury vapor poisoning resulting from the heating of cinnabar, successfully treated with high-dose corticosteroids and chelation therapy, and follow-up over 6 months.
