There are few data about the ischemic risks induced by the large orthodontic forces during periodontal breakdown in dental pulp and neuro-vascular bundle (NVB) and none on the individual tissular stress distribution, despite their great importance for orthodontic treatment planning. Our aim was to assess, by a numerical analysis, the biomechanical behavior of dental pulp and the NVB during a simulated horizontal periodontal breakdown (1-8 mm), under 2-4 N of applied orthodontic forces and five movements (rotation, translation, tipping, intrusion, and extrusion). Additionally, the ischemic and degenerative-resorptive risks were assessed.

Liver cirrhosis is a chronic, progressive condition characterized by fibrosis and architectural distortion of the liver, leading to impaired liver function and severe complications. Accurately predicting these complications is crucial to the improvement of patient outcomes. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of various non-invasive biomarkers and clinical scores in assessing the risk of complications among cirrhotic patients.

: Heart failure (HF) is one of the most common initial presentations of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). There are different cardiac biomarkers related to the pathophysiological mechanisms of HF in T2DM. The current research aims to identify additional biomarkers that could improve the diagnosis and prognosis of HFpEF, which is currently assessed using NT pro-BNP levels.

: Miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) has gained attention as an effective alternative to traditional rapid palatal expansion, particularly in adult patients. This scoping review synthesizes recent evidence to assess the clinical efficacy and safety of MARPE, addressing a gap in comprehensive, up-to-date analyses in this area. : To present the recent assessments concerning MARPE influencing factors, side effects, soft tissue alterations, and airway changes, focusing on comparisons with conventional devices.

Unlabelled: Capecitabine (CAP) is one of the most commonly prescribed fluoropyrimidines in oncology, especially in the treatment of colon cancer. Cardiac toxicity is a severe and potentially lethal adverse drug reaction (ADR) against fluoropyrimidines. Cardiac ADRs, such as myocardial infarction (MI), heart failure (HF), arrhythmias, and a number of cardiomyopathies, are reported for these molecules.

Background: Brain metastases (BM) from gastric cancer (GC) are rare but associated with poor prognosis, significantly impacting patient survival and quality of life. The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to consolidate existing research on BM from GC, evaluate the incidence and clinical outcomes, and explore the effectiveness of treatment options.
Methods: A systematic search was conducted across the Medline, Web of Science, and Scopus databases, following PRISMA guidelines.

Introduction: Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a highly lethal malignancy originating in the bile ducts, often diagnosed late with poor prognosis. Differentiating benign from malignant biliary tumors remains challenging, necessitating advanced diagnostic techniques.
Objective: This study aims to enhance the diagnostic accuracy of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) for distal cholangiocarcinoma (dCCA) using advanced convolutional neural networks (CCNs) for the classification and segmentation of EUS images, specifically targeting dCCAs, the pancreas, and the bile duct.

This review addresses the peri-procedural bleeding risks in patients with cirrhosis, emphasizing the need for careful coagulation assessment and targeted correction strategies. Liver disease presents a unique hemostatic challenge, where traditional coagulation tests may not accurately predict bleeding risk, complicating the management of procedures like paracentesis, endoscopic therapy, and various interventional procedures. As such, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of current data, guidelines, and practices for managing coagulation in cirrhotic patients, with a focus on minimizing bleeding risk while avoiding unnecessary correction with blood products.

This article proposes the synthesis and characterization of (triethylene glycol dimethacrylate-N,N-dihydroxyethyl-p-toluidine) TEGDMA-DHEPT self-healing microcapsules for their inclusion in dental composite formulations. The obtaining method is the in situ emulsion polymerization of the (poly urea-formaldehyde) (PUF) coatings. The microcapsules were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques.

: In psychiatric disorders, antipsychotics and antidepressant medication are often administered together. Aripiprazole, a third-generation antipsychotic drug, is extensively metabolized by CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 isoenzymes, while bupropion, used in depressive disorders, is known as a moderate or strong CYP2D6 enzyme inhibitor. This in vivo experiment aimed to assess the presence of a pharmacokinetic drug interaction between aripiprazole and bupropion and its magnitude on the systemic exposure of aripiprazole.

: The main aim of this research was to assess the reliability of two systems designed specifically for condylar movement recording using condylar slope and Bennett angle information. The objectives were to evaluate the validity of two subsequent null hypotheses: (1) there is no significant difference between the measurements of condylar slope and Bennett angle taken at T0 (initial) and T1 (after one week) using the same equipment; (2) there is no notable difference in the values of the condylar slope and Bennett angle measurements obtained using Modjaw and Cadiax 2. : An observational, descriptive, and prospective study was conducted with a selected group of 25 individuals (13 females and 12 males) aged between 22 and 27.

: Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) is a retinal condition characterized by the accumulation of subretinal fluid, often linked to elevated levels of endogenous corticosteroids and stress-related hormones, which can lead to visual disturbances. This connection may explain the association of CSCR with high stress levels and the use of corticosteroid medications. Although many cases resolve spontaneously, persistent or severe instances may require intervention.

Background: The 2 × 2 PEACE-1 study showed that combining androgen-deprivation therapy with docetaxel and abiraterone improved overall and radiographic progression-free survival in patients with de novo metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer. We aimed to examine the efficacy and safety of adding radiotherapy in this population.
Methods: We conducted an open-label, randomised, controlled, phase 3 trial with a 2 × 2 factorial design (PEACE-1) at 77 hospitals across Europe.

We describe the case of a 72-year-old man who presented with signs of increased intracranial pressure, right-sided motor deficit, and repeated episodes of epilepsy due to a left frontal arteriovenous malformation (AVM) with a large superficial draining vein. Despite great efforts to protect the vein from the start, it ruptured shortly after we removed the bone flap. This required rigorous hemorrhage control, which in turn led to profuse bleeding from the nidus throughout the process of the dissection and coagulation of the arterial feeders.

New -substituted AB-type phenothiazinyl porphyrins and ferrocenylvinyl phenothiazinyl porphyrin were synthesised by Suzuki-Miyaura and Mizoroki-Heck cross-coupling reactions, respectively. The free porphyrins were further used in the synthesis of new indium(iii) or zinc(ii) porphyrin complexes. All porphyrins exhibit red fluorescence emission in solution, a property that remains unimpaired following internalisation in ovarian A2780 cancer cells, as evidenced by fluorescence microscopy images.
