Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is considered the fourth industrial revolution that will change the evolution of humanity technically and relationally. Although the term has been around since 1956, it has only recently become apparent that AI can revolutionize technologies and has many applications in the medical field.
Areas Of Uncertainty: The ethical dilemmas posed by the use of AI in medicine revolve around issues related to informed consent, respect for confidentiality, protection of personal data, and last but not least the accuracy of the information it uses.

(1) Background: Our survey aimed to gather information on respiratory care in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) in the European and Mediterranean region. (2) Methods: Cross-sectional electronic survey. An 89-item questionnaire focusing on the current modes, devices, and strategies employed in neonatal units in the domain of respiratory care was sent to directors/heads of 528 NICUs.

HPV-independent in situ adenocarcinomas have been only recently added to the WHO 2020 classification. To date, little information has been published about HPVindependent precursor lesions. In particular, regardiong the extremely rare cervical endometrioid type adenocarcinoma thought to arise in the setting of cervical endometriosis, a premalignant lesion is still not well defined.

: The Cochlear implant is the first approved cranial nerve stimulator that works by directly stimulating the cochlear nerve. Various attempts have been made to evaluate the dimensions of the cochlea related to cochlear implantation. The preoperative computed tomographic examination is essential not only in assessing the anatomical aspect of the cochlea, but also in determining its dimensions to choose an appropriate electrode and obtain the best possible audiological performance.

The progressive potential of liver damage in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) towards advanced fibrosis, end-stage liver disease, and hepatocarcinoma has led to increased concern for quantifying liver injury and individual risk assessment. The combination of blood-based markers and imaging techniques is recommended for the initial evaluation in NAFLD and for regular monitoring to evaluate disease progression. Continued development of ultrasonographic and magnetic resonance imaging methods for accurate quantification of liver steatosis and fibrosis, as well as promising tools for the detection of high-risk NASH, have been noted.

Background: Intra-articular hyaluronic acid (IAHA) products are often used in the treatment of adults with mild-to-moderate knee osteoarthritis (KOA). The International Symposium on Intra-Articular Treatment (ISIAT) convened a multidisciplinary technical expert panel to define characteristics for an innovative IAHA product that should answer unmet needs in the clinical management of adults with mild-to-moderate KOA.
Methods: An initial set of evidence-based statements was developed based on data extracted from articles identified through a comprehensive literature search.
Aim: To generate mRNAs encoding conserved regions within SARS-CoV-2 ORF1ab which can induce strong T-cell responses to overcome the immune invasion of newly emergent variants.
Methods: We selected two conserved regions with a high density of T-cell epitopes using immunoinformatics for mRNA synthesis. The ability of testing mRNAs to activate T cells for IFN-γ production was examined by an ELISpot assay and flow cytometry.

Noninvasive prenatal tests for monogenic diseases (NIPT-SGG) have recently been reported as helpful in early-stage antenatal screening. Our study describes the clinical and genetic features of cases identified by NIPT-SGG. In a cohort pregnancy with abnormal sonograms, affected cases were confirmed by invasive diagnostic tests concurrently, with NIPT-SGG targeting 25 common dominant single-gene diseases.

: We investigated the effect of optimal maternal glycemic control on neonatal outcomes among infants born to mothers with diabetes. : In this prospective study, we assessed 88 eligible mothers admitted to the obstetrics department for pregnancy evaluation. Our analysis included 46 infants born to diabetic mothers (IDMs) and 138 infants born to unaffected mothers, all admitted to the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Military personnel are often victims of spinal cord injury resulting in lifetime disability and decrease in quality of life. However, no suitable therapeutic measures are still available to restore functional disability or arresting the pathophysiological progression of disease in victims for leading a better quality of life. Thus, further research in spinal cord injury using novel strategies or combination of available neuroprotective drugs is urgently needed for superior neuroprotection.

Hallmark of Alzheimer's disease include amyloid beta peptide and phosphorylated tau deposition in brain that could be aggravated following traumatic of concussive head injury. However, amyloid beta peptide or p-tau in spinal cord following injury is not well known. In this investigation we measured amyloid beta peptide and p-tau together with tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in spinal cord and brain following 48 h after spinal cord injury in relation to the blood-spinal cord and blood-brain barrier, edema formation, blood flow changes and cell injury in perifocal regions of the spinal cord and brain areas.

dl-3-n-Butylphthalide is a potent synthetic Chinese celery extract that is highly efficient in inducing neuroprotection in concussive head injury (CHI), Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, stroke as well as depression, dementia, anxiety and other neurological diseases. Thus, there are reasons to believe that dl-3-n-butylphthalide could effectively prevent Alzheimer's disease brain pathology. Military personnel during combat operation or veterans are often the victims of brain injury that is a major risk factor for developing Alzheimer's disease in their later lives.

Concussive head injury (CHI) is one of the major risk factors for developing Parkinson's disease in later life of military personnel affecting lifetime functional and cognitive disturbances. Till date no suitable therapies are available to attenuate CHI or PD induced brain pathology. Thus, further exploration of novel therapeutic agents are highly warranted using nanomedicine in enhancing the quality of life of veterans or service members of US military.

Stress is one of the most serious consequences of life leading to several chronic diseases and neurodegeneration. Recent studies show that emotional stress and other kinds of anxiety and depression adversely affects Parkinson's disease symptoms. However, the details of how stress affects Parkinson's disease is still not well known.

Alzheimer's disease is one of the devastating neurodegenerative diseases affecting mankind worldwide with advancing age mainly above 65 years and above causing great misery of life. About more than 7 millions are affected with Alzheimer's disease in America in 2023 resulting in huge burden on health care system and care givers and support for the family. However, no suitable therapeutic measures are available at the moment to enhance quality of life to these patients.

Sleep deprivation is quite frequent in military during combat, intelligence gathering or peacekeeping operations. Even one night of sleep deprivation leads to accumulation of amyloid beta peptide burden that would lead to precipitation of Alzheimer's disease over the years. Thus, efforts are needed to slow down or neutralize accumulation of amyloid beta peptide (AβP) and associated Alzheimer's disease brain pathology including phosphorylated tau (p-tau) within the brain fluid environment.

The sorption of antibiotics on soil minerals and their cotransport have been widely studied for the past few years; however, these processes in concentrated salt solutions (estuary-like conditions) are not fully understood. This study aims to determine the possible sorption of oxytetracycline (OTC) on various natural and synthesized microsized minerals (including haematite, goethite, kaolinite, bentonite, lateritic, kaolinitic and illitic soil clays) under conditions mimicking pure, fresh, brackish and sea waters. The sorption of OTC was found to decrease in surface charge (herein zeta potential), hence altering the colloidal properties of the materials used.

Background: The history of medicine has flowed in the wake of knowledge and social perceptions about the body and corporeality. There is no idea of health without reference to the notion of body (although "health" can have other meanings, figuratively). Considering the same history, the body was the subject of numerous segregations and categorizations due to which it was and is a "social object" and a "political object.
