With the increasing availability of large-scale multimodal neuroimaging datasets, it is necessary to develop data fusion methods which can extract cross-modal features. A general framework, multidataset independent subspace analysis (MISA), has been developed to encompass multiple blind source separation approaches and identify linked cross-modal sources in multiple datasets. In this work, we utilized the multimodal independent vector analysis (MMIVA) model in MISA to directly identify meaningful linked features across three neuroimaging modalities-structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), resting state functional MRI and diffusion MRI-in two large independent datasets, one comprising of control subjects and the other including patients with schizophrenia.

Purpose: Antidepressant treatment patterns may change after women with breast cancer (BC) initiate tamoxifen, potentially impacting health outcomes. We characterized trajectories of antidepressant use after initiating tamoxifen among young and middle-aged women with BC, identifying risk factors for trajectory group membership.
Methods: A retrospective cohort included women 18-64 years-old with BC and antidepressant treatment history who received a new tamoxifen dispensing (index date).

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) poses a major global health challenge. glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) have shown potential therapeutic benefits for MASLD patients, including improvements in liver function, inflammation, and fibrosis. This study aims to systematically review and meta-analyze randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of GLP-1RAs in MASLD patients, focusing on hepatic outcomes, cardiovascular outcomes, anthropometric measurements, and mortality.

Zinc selenide is an excellent matrix material to dope with rare-earth and transition metal to achieve mid-infrared luminescence to develop high power lasers. The luminescence, morphology and refractive index is significantly affected by the doping and defects generated due to size and valency of dopants, concentration, growth process and convection during the growth. The aim of the study is to investigate effect of point and line defects generated due to low doping of iron and chromium on the emission and morphology of the zinc selenide.

Seriously ill older adults are admitted for post-acute care in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) for curative, rehabilitative treatments, yet experience high rates of re-hospitalization, and death. The primary palliative care in post-acute care (PPC-PAC) intervention is an evidence-based approach designed to help people with serious illness align treatment plans with goals of care, optimize quality of life, and improve satisfaction with their care. To conduct a preliminary study and evaluate the feasibility of implementing the PPC-PAC intervention in the post-acute care SNF setting.

Mother-child closeness, a mutually trusting and affectionate bond, is an important factor in shaping positive youth development. However, little is known about the neural pathways through which mother-child closeness is related to brain organization. Utilizing a longitudinal sample primarily from low-income families (N = 181; 76% African American youth and 54% female), this study investigated the associations between mother-child closeness at ages 9 and 15 years and structural connectivity organization (network integration, robustness, and segregation) at age 15 years.

Objectives: Post-discharge adverse events, such as falls, hospitalizations, and death, are more prevalent among older adults with dementia, compared to their cognitively intact counterparts. This study aimed to test the association between physical resilience and post discharge adverse events in a sample of older adults with dementia.
Method: Through phone calls with caregivers over one year, we obtained data on physical resilience and post-discharge adverse events through caregiver report among a sample of 314 recently discharged older adults with dementia.

GnRH governs reproduction by regulating pituitary gonadotropins. Unlike most vertebrates, gnrh-/- zebrafish are fertile. To elucidate the role of the hypophysiotropic-Gnrh3 and other mechanisms regulating pituitary gonadotropes, we profiled the gene expression of all individual pituitary cells of wild-type and gnrh3-/- adult female zebrafish.

Polymicrobial communities are often recalcitrant to antibiotic treatment because interactions between different microbes can dramatically alter their responses and susceptibility to antimicrobials. However, the mechanisms of evolving antimicrobial resistance in such polymicrobial environments are poorly understood. We previously reported that Mg depletion caused by the fungus can enable to acquire significant resistance to colistin, a last-resort antibiotic targeting bacterial membrane.

This study evaluates the effectiveness of a brief psychoeducation training program in reducing mental health stigma, both toward others and oneself, among public safety personnel, while also comparing the relative effectiveness of in-person and online training modalities. In total, 1686 public safety personnel in Florida received psychoeducation on the mental health impacts of public safety work. Participants completed pre- and post-training questionnaires assessing demographics, mental health knowledge, and mental health stigma toward others and themselves.

Motor impairments caused by stroke significantly affect daily activities and reduce quality of life, highlighting the need for effective rehabilitation strategies. This study presents a novel approach to classifying motor tasks using EEG data from acute stroke patients, focusing on left-hand motor imagery, right-hand motor imagery, and rest states. By using advanced source localization techniques, such as Minimum Norm Estimation (MNE), dipole fitting, and beamforming, integrated with a customized Residual Convolutional Neural Network (ResNetCNN) architecture, we achieved superior spatial pattern recognition in EEG data.

Temporal trends demonstrate improved survival for many types of common pediatric cancer. Studies have not examined improvement in very rare pediatric cancers or compared these improvements to more common cancers. In this cohort study of the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) registry, we examined patients from 1975 to 2016 who were 0-19 years of age at the time of diagnosis.

Thiophene and two derivatives (2-methylthiophene and 3-methylthiophene) have been detected on the surface of Mars with the Sample Analysis at Mars instrument suite onboard NASA's Curiosity rover. Thiophene could serve as a secondary chemical biosignature since the secondary biosynthesis of thiophene is considered an important production pathway. However, it is critical to understand the abiotic formation and destruction of thiophene and its derivatives since these pathways could affect the molecules' stabilities on planetary surfaces over geological timescales.

Objectives: Vaccine hesitancy represents an important challenge to the effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic. In prior research on seasonal influenza, childhood vaccination, and emergency vaccination programs, hesitancy has been associated with a wide range of demographic, psychological, and compliance factors.
Methods: In January 2021, an online survey was distributed using the Qualtrics (Provo, UT) platform to a proportional quota sample of individuals in three states: Louisiana, New York, and Washington.
