Department of Biology, Faculty of Sciences, University of Maragheh, Maragheh, Iran. Electronic address:

Prostate cancer is a common type of cancer in men with high incidence and mortality. Our aim was to investigate the effects of oxalipalladium (ox-Pd) on metastatic human prostate cancer PC3 cells and compare them with the effects of oxaliplatin (ox-Pt) (as an approved cancer drug). We synthesized ox-Pd through a new chemical method and used FT-IR, H NMR, C NMR, and MS analyzes to characterize it.

In this work, a heterogeneous photocatalysis system is fabricated for treating wastewater containing organic dyes and pharmaceutical substances. Double-heterojunction Janus photocatalysts are formed on the surface of size-tunable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) microparticles shaped via simple and low-cost coflow microfluidic devices. Ag/Ag-TiO/TiO Janus-like photocatalysts are synthesized on the surface of porous PDMS microparticles as the support in which the metal-semiconductor heterojunction of Ag/Ag-TiO and the second heterojunction of Ag-TiO/TiO are created in situ, leading to the formation of Ag/Ag-TiO/TiO@PDMS photocatalysis systems.

Copper-Based Bio-MOF/GO with Lewis Basic Sites for CO Fixation into Cyclic Carbonates and C-C Bond-Forming Reactions.

Inorg Chem

July 2024

Key Laboratory of Carbon Materials of Zhejiang Province, College of Chemistry and Materials Engineering, Wenzhou University, Wenzhou 325035, Zhejiang, P. R. China.

Several measures, including crude oil recovery improvement and carbon dioxide (CO) conversion into valuable chemicals, have been considered to decrease the greenhouse effect and ensure a sustainable low-carbon future. The Knoevenagel condensation and CO fixation have been introduced as two principal solutions to these challenges. In the present study for the first time, bio-metal-organic frameworks (MOF)(Cu)/graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposites have been used as catalytic agents for these two reactions.

A series of 4-ferrcenylbutyl carboxylate esters with different alkyl chain length (C-C) of carboxylic acids were synthesized using FeO@SiO@(CH)-Im-bisEthylFc[I] nanoparticles as catalyst and have been characterized with FT-IR, H NMR, and C NMR. Ferrocenyl-based esters were used as corrosion inhibitors of mild steel in the 1M HCl solution as corrosive media. The corrosion inhibition efficiency of the synthesized ferrocenyl-based esters has been assessed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), potentiodynamic polarization (PDP), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Background: Boron (B) is a micronutrient, but excessive levels can cause phytotoxicity, impaired growth, and reduced photosynthesis. B toxicity arises from over-fertilization, high soil B levels, or irrigation with B-rich water. Conversely, silicon (Si) is recognized as an element that mitigates stress and alleviates the toxic effects of certain nutrients.

Background: The presence of granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) and its receptor in various testicular cells and spermatozoa suggests a potential role in enhancing spermatogonial and postmeiotic cell development. Moreover, GM-CSF activates the pivotal pathways implicated in sperm motility regulation and glucose metabolism. However, the impact of GM-CSF on testicular biopsies from patients with obstructive azoospermia (OA) remains unexplored.

COVID-19 as an infectious disease with rapid transmission speed is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), so, early and accurate diagnostics of COVID-19 is quite challenging. In this work, the selective and sensitive self-enhanced ECL method to detect of SARS-CoV-2 protein was designed with magnetic N-doped carbon derived from dual-ligand metal-organic frameworks (MOF) (CoO@N-C) with the primary and tertiary amino groups as a novel coreactant that covalently combined with Ru(bpy)(phen-NH) as electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emitter. Mixed-ligand strategy and selected nitrogen-containing ligands, 4,4',4''-((1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyl) tris-(azanediyl)) tribenzoic acid (HTATAB) with 2-aminoterephthalic acid (BDC-NH) were used for synthesis of the proposed MOF.

Yeltsin, Ekaterinburg 620002, Russian Federation. Electronic address:

In this work, we report on the synthesis of a novel zinc(II) coordination compound [ZnL] (1), which was readily obtained from the reaction of Zn(OAc)·2HO and N'-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)nicotinohydrazide (HL) in methanol. Recrystallization of 1 from dimethylformamide under ambient conditions allowed to produce yellow block-like crystals of 1·HO. Complex 1·HO was characterized by FT-IR and H NMR spectroscopy, while its optical properties were studied by UV-vis and spectrofluorimetry in methanol.

Due to their exceptional properties and diverse applications, including to magnetic devices, thermoelectric materials, catalysis, biomedicine, and energy storage, nanoscale metallic multilayer composites (NMMCs) have recently attracted great attention. The alternating layers of two or more metals that make up NMMCs are each just a few nanometers thick. The difficulties in producing and synthesizing new materials can be overcome by using nanoscale multilayer architectures.

Our study explores neutrosophic statistics, an extension of classical and fuzzy statistics, to address the challenges of data uncertainty. By leveraging accurate measurements of an auxiliary variable, we can derive precise estimates for the unknown population median. The estimators introduced in this research are particularly useful for analysing unclear, vague data or within the neutrosophic realm.

The synthesis of novel metal-organic coordination polymers (MOCP) with the chemical formula [MnL (SCN)(OH)]·CHOH [L = 1,5-bis(pyridine-4-ylmethylene) carbonohydrazide] {} was accomplished using two different techniques: solvothermal and sonochemical ultrasonic-assisted. An investigation was carried out to examine the impact of various factors such as reaction time, sonication power, temperature, and reactant concentration on the morphology and size of the crystals. Interestingly, it was found that sonication power and temperature did not affect the crystals' morphology and size.

This study introduces a novel chemiluminescence (CL) approach utilizing FeS nanosheets (NSs) catalyzed luminol-O CL reaction for the measurement of three pharmaceuticals, namely venlafaxine hydrochloride (VFX), imipramine hydrochloride (IPM), and cefazolin sodium (CEF). The CL method involved the phenomenon of quenching induced by the pharmaceuticals in the CL reaction. To achieve the most quenching efficacy of the pharmaceuticals in the CL reaction, the concentrations of reactants comprising luminol, NaOH, and FeS NSs were optimized accordingly.

The ability to respond to varying environments is crucial for sessile organisms such as plants. The amphibious plant Rorippa aquatica exhibits a striking type of phenotypic plasticity known as heterophylly, a phenomenon in which leaf form is altered in response to environmental factors. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms of heterophylly are yet to be fully understood.
