Winged aphids develop more sensitive olfaction than the wingless phenotype to identify potential habitat from afar. Two types of olfactory sensilla, primary rhinarium (PRh) and secondary rhinarium (SRh) are responsible for aphid olfactory perception, of which, SRh is involved in the perception of both E-β-farnesene (EBF) and plant volatiles. Odorant binding proteins (OBPs) play a vital role in the response of insect olfactory nerves located in the rhinarium to external odor stimuli.

Numerous prediction equations have been developed based on mid-infrared (MIR) spectra and some could be potentially used as biomarkers of heat stress. However, practical experience shows that confusion between the effect of heat stress and other effects like lactation stage or feeding variation over the year can easily occur. On this basis, the objective of this study was to identify potential milk components predicted by MIR as biomarkers of heat stress based on a 2-step approach allowing to correct for those effects.

In managed populations-whether for production or conservation-management practices can interfere with natural eco-evolutionary processes, providing opportunities to mitigate immediate impacts of disturbances or enhance selection on tolerance traits. Here, we used a modelling approach to explore the interplay and feedback loops among drought regimes, natural selection and tree thinning in naturally regenerated monospecific forests. We conducted a simulation experiment spanning three nonoverlapping generations with the individual-based demo-genetic model Luberon2.

Information intervention has been verified to be effective in influencing individual behavior. Thus, can information intervention reverse the common discrepancy of high intention but poor action among the public about participating in environmental management? Clarifying the issue is critical to facilitating the public payment scheme for agricultural plastic waste management (APWM) to evolve from idea to reality, as well as harnessing potential contributions from the public to promote the sustainability of APWM. In light of these inquiries, the study seeks to reinforce the public's payment for APWM by employing an information strategy based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and to verify the effect of information intervention on the respondents' willingness to pay (WTP) by a randomized controlled trial (RCT).
