Background & Objective: Antibiotic resistance in urinary tract infection (UTI) is increasing nowadays, therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the resistance patterns of many pathogens toward several antibiotics that are in common use in our hospitals.
Methods: Subculture and identification of pathogenic bacteria were performed on 1148 hospitals' bacterial primary cultures which were considered positive for UTI. An antibiotic sensitivity test was performed by using the disc diffusion method.

Wind energy becomes one of the promised solutions as alternatives of using fossil power energy in the upcoming decades. As pressure fluctuation and flow deficit in the near wake play a crucial role in predicting the turbine performance, the novelty in the current study focuses on a three dimensional (3 D) transient numerical simulation to investigate near wake characteristics of NREL phase IV wind turbine. Pressure fluctuation spectrum and wake deficit at four sections downstream the turbine are the main parameters studied as well as the flow streams and iso-surface characteristics.

Background: Chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity (CIC) is a significant challenge in cancer treatment, leading to heart failure and myocardial infarction. With rising cancer survival rates, the long-term cardiovascular health of survivors has gained importance. While several cardioprotective medications have been studied to mitigate chemotherapy's harmful effects on the heart, more research is needed to confirm their effectiveness and optimal use.

Introduction: Dandy-Walker syndrome (DWS), a complex neurodevelopmental disorder, has intrigued clinicians and researchers since its description by physicians Walter Dandy and Arthur Walker. Despite its recognition for nearly a century, understanding its etiology, pathogenesis, and clinical manifestations remains elusive. This bibliometric analysis aims to elucidate influential academic works on DWS.

Initially, 4,4'-(1,4-phenylene)di(sulfonic)pyridinium tetrachloroferrate (PDSPTCF) as a novel organic-inorganic hybrid salt was synthesized and identified by elemental mapping, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer, Raman spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, vibrating-sample magnetometry, and thermal gravimetric (TG) techniques. Then, the catalytic performance of this hybrid salt was assessed for the producing benzo[a]benzo[6,7]chromeno[2,3-c]phenazine derivatives via one-pot multicomponent domino reaction (MDR) of benzene-1,2-diamine, 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1,4-dione and aldehydes under optimal conditions (70 °C, solvent-free, 5 mol% PDSPTCF) in short reaction times and high yields. Highly efficacy of the PDSPTCF for the production of benzo[a]pyrano[2,3-c]phenazines can be assigned to the synergistic effect of Lewis and Brønsted acids, and having two positions of each acid (i.

Background: Single-walled (SWCNTs) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) can pose risks in biological systems leading to harmful effects, such as, reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation, DNA damage, mitochondrial dysfunction, and ultimately, the cell death through apoptosis.
Objectives: The study assessed the nephrotoxicity of the SWCNTs and SWCNTs-Ag-TiO nanocomposites through in vitro and in vivo experiments, assessing oxidative stress, genotoxicity, and safety for biomedical applications.
Methodology: In vitro, HK-2 cell lines were utilized to evaluate the effects of nanomaterials on cellular activity, apoptosis, ROS generation, and micronuclei formations.

This paper introduces a novel approach using Clustered Artificial Neural Networks (CLANN) to address the challenge of developing predictive models for multimodal dataset with extreme parameter values. The CLANN method strategically decomposes the dataset, derived from Finite Element Analysis (FEA), into clusters, each representing distinct diffusion behaviors, and applies specialized neural networks within these clusters. The CLANN model was rigorously evaluated and demonstrated superior accuracy and consistency compared to traditional methods such as the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and fuzzy expert systems.

Magnesium is an essential nutrient for various physiological processes and becomes even more vital during pregnancy, contributing to muscle relaxation, bone development, electrolyte balance, and blood pressure regulation. Despite the fact that the dietary sources of magnesium are diversified, it is still challenging to obtain it in sufficient quantities during pregnancy. We have elucidated its interactions and its specific impact on maternal-fetal health in different research publications.

Amide bond formation is a fundamental reaction in organic synthesis, essential for the construction of peptides and various bioactive molecules. Traditional methods for amide bond formation often require harsh conditions, expensive reagents, or generate undesirable by-products. Herein, we report a novel and efficient method for amide bond formation utilizing tropylium ion organocatalysis.

Background: Renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is a significant contributor to renal dysfunction, acute kidney injury (AKI), and associated morbidity and mortality. Resveratrol, a polyphenol and phytoalexin, is known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-cancer properties. This study investigates the nephroprotective potential of resveratrol in a rat model of renal IRI.
