Two species of wild sheep inhabit Iran: Asiatic mouflon () and urial (). Phylogenetic relationships between populations distributed in this country are complex and still remain unclear. This study aimed to clarify, by genetic assessment, the phylogenetic status of Kerman wild sheep, considered to be a hybrid of the two species.

This paper introduces a fully distributed model-free adaptive control (MFAC) approach for consensus tracking in multi-agent systems (MASs) with compact form data linearization (CFDL). Unlike prior methods that require agents to know the full communication graph, our approach allows each agent to configure its controller using only local information from its neighbors, achieving a fully distributed control. Therefore, our method easily supports scenarios where agents dynamically join or leave MAS.

Orexin-A (OXA), a neuropeptide produced in the hypothalamus, is recognized for its role in modulating orofacial nociception and regulating feeding behaviors, as well as its impact on psychophysiological responses. This study investigated the role of orexin-1 receptors (OX1R) in modulating nociceptive behaviors induced by noxious stimulation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the associated changes in mood and feeding behaviors in rats with complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)-induced temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). Bilateral cannulation of the lateral ventricles was performed in rats.

Due to the unique properties of nanoparticles (NPs), their application has been proposed as an innovative and promising enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technique. They enhance oil recovery by improving EOR mechanisms including decreasing interfacial tension (IFT), wettability alteration to water-wet, and preventing asphaltene precipitation. In this study, FeO@Gelatin NPs were synthesized by a convenient and single-step method and then investigated for EOR purposes for the first time.

Background: The Anopheles culicifacies complex is one of the most important malaria vectors in Southeast Asia and Southeastern Iran. Although the sibling species within this complex are morphologically indistinguishable, they differ significantly in their disease transmission potential, blood-feeding behaviour, and other biological traits. Cytogenetic and chromosomal studies have identified five sibling species within this complex: A, B, C, D, and E.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the primary malignancy affecting the liver and the leading cause of mortality among individuals with cirrhosis. This complex disease is associated with various risk factors, including environmental, pathological, and genetic influences, which dysregulate gene expression crucial for the cell cycle and cellular/molecular pathways. The disruption of the balance between tumor suppressors and proto-oncogenes amplifies the pathogenic cascade.

Introduction: Brucellosis is still a significant emerging threat to public health, as it can infect humans, wild, domestic animals, and livestock. Hence, the current study aims to determine the frequency of canine brucellosis (CB), its relationship with clinical findings and reproductive disorders in kennel and farm dogs, and its importance on public health.
Materials And Methods: From January 2022 to December 2023, a total of 150 blood samples were taken from 100 adult dogs in breeding kennels and 50 shepherd dogs in breeding farms in Kerman, Iran.

Individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID) often exhibit lower levels of physical fitness compared to the general population, including reduced strength, endurance, flexibility, and coordination. Dynamic neuromuscular stabilization (DNS) training can potentially improve the performance of adults with ID caused by weak motor skills due to a lack of desirable nerve growth during childhood and before puberty. Also, DNS training proposed to improve physical fitness in this population, but the effectiveness and durability of DNS training on specific fitness components have not been well-established.

Groundwater resources constitute one of the primary sources of freshwater in semi-arid and arid climates. Monitoring the groundwater quality is an essential component of environmental management. In this study, a comprehensive comparison was conducted to analyze the performance of nine ensembles and regular machine learning (ML) methods in predicting two water quality parameters including total dissolved solids (TDS) and pH, in an area with semi-arid climate conditions.

Nanofluids have the capacity to reduce interfacial tension (IFT) of crude oil and water for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) operations, but traditional nanoparticles are limited in tight reservoirs due to their inappropriate size for micro-nano pores and their tendency to aggregate. In this paper, Graphene Quantum Dots (GQDs) with simple and favorable properties are developed, and their performance and mechanism for reducing IFT are evaluated. The paper also aims to explore the effects of GQD precursor type, synthesis duration, and molar percentages of precursors on reducing IFT.

Because a significant portion of oil remains in carbonate reservoirs, efficient techniques are essential to increase oil recovery from carbonate reservoirs. Wettability alteration is crucial for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) from oil-wet reservoirs. This study investigates the impact of different substances on the wettability of dolomite and calcite rocks.

Introduction: Ischemia followed by reperfusion in organ transplantations can lead to ischemia-reperfusion (I-R) injury, which is associated with oxidative stress and inflammatory responses. Alpha-pinene is an organic terpene with well-known antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic properties. This study examines the preventive effects of alpha-pinene against renal I-R-induced kidney dysfunction, oxidative and inflammatory status, apoptosis, and histopathology changes.

Gastric ulcer (GU) is the most common health concern that occurs due to an imbalance between gastric protective mucosal and aggressive factors. Ethanol-induced GU in animal models resembles the pathophysiology of human ulcers. Natural products with fewer side effects are highly requested to attenuate their GU effects.

Objective: The present study investigated the preventive effect of MitoQ supplementation and endurance training (ET) on the TLR4/CREB/ NF-κβ signaling pathway, antioxidant indices, and behaviors in C6-induced glioblastoma (GBM) in rats.
Methods: 60 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups (n = 12); Sham, Tumor, MitoQ, ET, and MitoQ + ET. Rats in the training groups performed endurance training (5 days per week), and MitoQ at the dose of 250 µM/L daily was administered in drinking water for 8 weeks.

Runs of homozygosity (ROH) are contiguous stretches of identical genomic regions inherited from both parents. Assessment of ROH in livestock species contributes significantly to our understanding of genetic health, population genetic structure, selective pressure and conservation efforts. In this study, whole genome re-sequencing data from 140 birds of 10 Iranian indigenous chicken ecotypes, 3 commercial chicken breeds and 1 red junglefowl (RJF) population were used to investigate their population genetic structure, ROH characteristics (length and frequency) and genomic inbreeding coefficients (F).
