Changes in Perceived Self-efficacy of Physical Therapist Students Following a Pediatric Experiential Learning Opportunity.

Pediatr Phys Ther

January 2019

University of Jamestown Physical Therapy Program, University of Jamestown, and Education Doctoral Program, North Dakota State University, Fargo, North Dakota.

Purpose: Physical therapists (PT) must be competent to treat patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics through geriatrics. Increasing the amount of experiential learning (EL) in pediatrics presents an opportunity for students to improve their self-efficacy in communication and patient handling. The purpose was to investigate changes in PT students' perceived self-efficacy in communication and patient handling following a structured and focused 8-week EL opportunity with a pediatric population.

Objectives: Computed tomography (CT) is commonly used to noninvasively examine mummified remains, but can have resolution limitations when analyzing smaller mummified specimens, such as fetal mummies. This short report determines if the enhanced resolution of micro CT improves the anatomical analysis of mummified fetal anatomy.

Methods: A fetal mummy from an anatomical collection was scanned by a micro CT at a resolution of 0.

Reduction and Increase in Thermal Conductivity of Si Irradiated with Ga via Focused Ion Beam.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

October 2018

Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering , Kansas State University, Manhattan , Kansas 66506 , United States.

Focused ion beam (FIB) technology has become a valuable tool for the microelectronics industry and for the fabrication and preparation of samples at the micro/nanoscale. Its effects on the thermal transport properties of Si, however, are not well understood nor do experimental data exist. This paper presents a carefully designed set of experiments for the determination of the thermal conductivity of Si samples irradiated by Ga FIB.

IMPAIRMENT BASED EXAMINATION AND TREATMENT OF COSTOCHONDRITIS: A CASE SERIES.

Int J Sports Phys Ther

June 2017

Tactical Sports OMPT Fellowship, United States Airforce Academy, Colorado SpringsCO, USA.

Background: Costochondritis is commonly encountered in primary care, but is not routinely referred to PT. Costochondritis can last from several weeks to several months, limiting the patient's ability to perform tasks at work and home.

Purpose: Identify common impairments and examine the effects of treatment in subjects with costochondritis.

In animals with complex life cycles, all resources needed to form adult tissues are procured at the larval stage. For butterflies, the proper development of wings involves synthesizing tissue during metamorphosis based on the raw materials obtained by larvae. Similarly, manufacture of pigment for wing scales also requires resources acquired by larvae.
