Objective: Segmenting and reconstructing 3D models of bone tumors from 2D image data is of great significance for assisting disease diagnosis and treatment. However, due to the low distinguishability of tumors and surrounding tissues in images, existing methods lack accuracy and stability. This study proposes a U-Net model based on double dimensionality reduction and channel attention gating mechanism, namely the DCU-Net model for oncological image segmentation.

The core goal of feature matching is to establish correspondences between two images. Current methods without detectors achieve impressive results but often focus on global features, neglecting regions with subtle textures and resulting in fewer matches in areas with weak textures. This paper proposes a feature-matching method based on local window aggregation, which balances global features and local texture variations for more accurate matches, especially in weak-texture regions.

Image encryption is crucial for protecting image privacy and ensuring security. Encrypting large batches of images of different types and sizes simultaneously with losslessly decryption is often necessary. This paper proposes an optical asymmetric multi-image encryption algorithm to meet these demands.

Acer rubrum, an ornamental tree known for its stunning autumn colors, has an elusive molecular mechanism that governs its leaf senescence. We performed the genome-wide analysis of NAC transcription factor genes and PYRABACTIN RESISTANCE1-LIKE (PYLs) and found that ArNAC148 and ArPYL13 were significantly upregulated in senescing leaves as compared to mature leaves. Subcellular localization studies confirmed the nuclear localization of ArNAC148 and the cytoplasmic localization of ArPYL13.

We investigate the structural, electronic, and optical properties of eight possible ZrCO/GaS van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures using first-principles calculations based on a hybrid functional. These structures display favorable stability, indicated by matching crystal structures and negative formation energies. In all considered configurations, these heterostructures act as indirect band gap semiconductors with a type-II band alignment, allowing efficient electron-hole separation.

The identification of multi-source signals with time-frequency aliasing is a complex problem in wideband signal reception. The traditional method of first separation and identification especially fails due to the significant separation error under underdetermined conditions when the degree of time-frequency aliasing is high. The single-mode recognition method does not need to be separated first.

Although being applied in various fields, white light emitting diodes (WLEDs) still have drawbacks that urgently need to be conquered: the luminescent intensity of commercial phosphors sharply decreases at working temperature. In this study, we calculated the forming energy of defects and confirmed that the defect state can stably exist in β-NaGdF, by density functional theory (DFT) calculation. Furthermore, we predicted that the vacancies would provide a zero thermal quenching (ZTQ) property for the β-NaGdF-based red-light phosphor.

Vertical Distribution Mapping for Methane Fugitive Emissions Using Laser Path-Integral Sensing in Non-Cooperative Open Paths.

Sensors (Basel)

February 2024

Heilongjiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Thermal Utilization and Disaster Reduction of New Energy in Cold Regions, Northeast Petroleum University, Daqing 163318, China.

Observing the vertical diffusion distribution of methane fugitive emissions from oil/gas facilities is significant for predicting the pollutant's spatiotemporal transport and quantifying the random emission sources. A method is proposed for methane's vertical distribution mapping by combining the laser path-integral sensing in non-non-cooperative open paths and the computer-assisted tomography (CAT) techniques. It uses a vertical-plume-mapping optical path configuration and adapts the developed dynamic relaxation and simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique (DR-SART) into methane-emission-distribution reconstruction.
