Introduction: Skeletal muscle is the largest insulin-sensitive tissue in the human body, alteration in muscle mass and strength substantially impact glucose metabolism. This systematic review aims to investigate further the relationship between muscle mass and strength towards type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) incidence.

Methods: This systematic review included cohort studies that examinedthe relationship between muscle mass and/or muscle strength on T2DM incidence.

Purpose: Skeletal-related events (SREs) are common complications of bone metastases that include the need for radiation or surgery to bone, pathological and radiological fractures, and hypercalcemia. Available data indicate that significant bone pain is associated with SREs, leading to an increased risk of death, higher medication costs, and reduced quality of life for patients. Bisphosphonate agents and denosumab are therapeutic options for preventing SREs in advanced cancer patients with bone metastases.

Therefore, the aim of current study was to evaluate the impact of diabetes on times delays, reperfusion and mortality in a contemporary STEMI population undergoing PPCI, including treatment during the COVID pandemic.

Methods And Results: The ISACS-STEMI COVID-19 is a large-scale retrospective multicenter registry involving PPCI centers from Europe, Latin America, South-East Asia and North-Africa, including patients treated from 1st of March until June 30, 2019 and 2020.
