This study investigates the role of self-perceived burden as a mediating factor in the association between perceived partner responsiveness and fertility intentions in women of reproductive age diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. A sample of 366 female inflammatory bowel disease patients from Changsha, China, was recruited using convenience sampling. Participants completed assessments, including the Impact of Perceived Partner Responsiveness Scale, Self-Perceived Burden Scale, Fertility Intentions Questionnaire, and a demographic questionnaire.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a malignant tumor of epithelial origin in head and neck with high incidence rate in South China, Southeast Asia and North Africa. The intervention of tumor-associated macrophages (Mφs) (TAMs)-mediated immunosuppression is a potential therapeutic strategy against tumor metastasis, but the exact mechanisms of TAM-mediated immunosuppression in nasopharyngeal carcinoma are unclear. Furthermore, how TAM affects the occurrence and development of nasopharyngeal carcinoma through metabolism is rarely involved.

Background And Objective: Depression is a widespread mental health condition that can impact both mental and physical well-being. Prior research has shown that high levels of copper in the blood and low levels of folate are linked to depression. This study aimed to explore whether serum folate levels, independently or in combination with serum copper levels, associated with the risk of depression.

Thalassemia is the most common autosomal genetic disorder in humans. The pathogenesis of thalassemia is principally due to the deletion or mutation of globin genes that then leads to disorders in globin-chain synthesis, and its predominant clinical manifestations include chronic forms of hemolytic anemia. However, research on the epigenetics and underlying pathogenesis of thalassemia is in its nascency and not yet been systematically realized.

Background: Anoikis is a form of programmed cell death essential for preventing cancer metastasis. In some solid cancer, anoikis resistance can facilitate tumor progression. However, this phenomenon is underexplored in clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC).

This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with intraoperative hypothermia and postoperative shivering rates in patients undergoing complex percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and investigate the effects of combined insulation nursing intervention. A total of 168 patients were included, with 103 patients in the control (Ctrl) group receiving routine care and 65 patients in the nursing (Nur) group receiving combined insulation nursing intervention measures. General information, surgical data, temperature, intraoperative hypothermia incidence, postoperative shivering, and complication rates were statistically analyzed between the two groups.

Background: Cancer stem cells (CSCs) play a vital role in the occurrence, maintenance, and recurrence of solid tumors. Although, miR-145-5p can inhibit CSCs survival, poor understanding of the underlying mechanisms hamperes further therapeutic optimization for patients. Lentivirus with remarkable transduction efficiency is the most commonly used RNA carrier in research, but has shown limited tumor-targeting capability.

Background: The prevalence and mortality of bladder cancer (BLCA) present a significant medical challenge. While the function of senescence-related genes in tumor development is recognized, their prognostic significance in BLCA has not been thoroughly explored.
Methods: BLCA transcriptome datasets were sourced from the TCGA and GEO repositories.

Salient objects often capture our attention, serving as distractors and hindering our current goals. It remains unclear when and how salient distractors interact with our goals, and our knowledge on the neural mechanisms responsible for attentional capture is limited to a few brain regions recorded from non-human primates. Here we conducted a multivariate analysis on human intracranial signals covering most brain regions and successfully dissociated distractor-specific representations from target-arousal signals in the high-frequency (60-100 Hz) activity.

Background: While folic acid (FA) is widely used to treat elevated total homocysteine (tHcy), promoting vascular health by reducing vascular oxidative stress and modulating endothelial nitric oxide synthase, the optimal daily dose and individual variation by MTHFR C677T genotypes have not been well studied. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the efficacy of eight different FA dosages on tHcy lowering in the overall sample and by MTHFR C677T genotypes.
Methods: This multicentered, randomized, double-blind, controlled clinical trial included 2697 eligible hypertensive adults with elevated tHcy (≥ 10 mmol/L) and without history of stroke and cardiovascular disease.

Statin is well-established as a classical lipid-lowering drug, and its cost has reduced considerably in the past years. Inclisiran is a new and effective lipid-lowering drug given as a subcutaneous injection at 6-month intervals. This study aims to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of the combination use of inclisiran and statin versus statin alone for dyslipidemia in the mainland China population.

Breast cancer is the most common diagnosed cancer, the HER2-positive subtype account for 15% of all breast cancer. HER2-targeted therapy is the mainstay treatment for HER2-positive breast cancer. Cuproptosis is a novel form of programmed cell death, and is caused by mitochondrial lipoylation and destabilization of iron-sulfur proteins triggered by copper, which was considered as a key player in various biological processes.

Background: Compared with other lung squamous cell carcinomas (LUSC), pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (pLELC) is closely associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infections with a unique molecular profile and immune microenvironment. This study was thus established to compare the treatment response and effectiveness of immunotherapy between pLELC and LUSC.
Material And Methods: We enrolled 31 patients with pLELC and 116 with LUSC receiving first-line immunotherapy at three centers in China and compared the treatment response and effectiveness of immunotherapy.

Endometrial cancer (UCEC) is a commonly occurring tumor in females, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is closely related to UCEC, but the molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This article aims to explore potential molecular mechanisms in UCEC and PCOS, as well as identify prognostic genes for UCEC. Bioinformatics methods were employed to screen for DEGs in UCEC and PCOS.

Synucleinopathies refer to a range of neurodegenerative diseases caused by abnormal α-synuclein (α-Syn) deposition, including Parkinson's disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), and multiple system atrophy (MSA). Their pathogenesis is strongly linked to microglial dysfunction and neuroinflammation, which involves the leucine-rich-repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2)-regulated nuclear factor of activated T-cells (NFAT). Of the NFAT family, NFATc1 has been found to be increasingly translocated into the nucleus in α-syn stimulation.

Introduction And Aims: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by the abnormal accumulation of hyperphosphorylated tau proteins and amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptides. Recent studies have shown that many microRNAs (miRNAs) are dysregulated in AD, and modulation of these miRNAs can influence the development of tau and Aβ pathology. The brain-specific miRNA miR-128, encoded by MIR128-1 and MIR128-2, is important for brain development and dysregulated in AD.

Objective: Many studies have drawn their attention to the immunotherapy of bladder urothelial carcinoma in terms of immunologic mechanisms of human body. These include immunogenicity of the tumor cells and involvement of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). We constructed a necroptosis-related long noncoding RNA (nrlncRNA) risk factor model to predict BLCA outcomes and calculate correlations with chemosensitivity and immune infiltration.
