Article Synopsis
  • Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) may impact sleep quality, but the link between sleep regulation mechanisms and CSU is not well understood, particularly concerning orexin-A, ghrelin, and leptin.
  • A study involving 33 CSU patients and 34 controls measured serum levels of orexin-A, ghrelin, and leptin, alongside various sleep quality assessments.
  • Results showed higher levels of serum orexin-A and leptin in CSU patients versus controls, with orexin-A levels positively correlating with sleep quality, suggesting its potential influence in sleep disturbances among CSU patients.
