Is there a renal protective role for gelsolin treatment in crush syndrome? An experimental study.

Background: This study aims to investigate the impact of combining crush fluid resuscitation with gelsolin treatment on renal function in a rat model of crush syndrome.

Methods: Twenty-four adult female Wistar albino rats were randomly assigned to one of three groups for crush syndrome treat-ment: Control (C) group, gelsolin + crush fluid (gel) group, and crush fluid only (CF) group, each containing eight rats. Sedated rats underwent unilateral hind limb compression of 2 kg using a compression device, maintained for five hours.

Importance of qSOFA Score in Terms of Prognosis and Mortality in Critical Care Patients.

Background: Recent studies have analyzed the qSOFA (quick sequential organ failure assessment) score as a prognostic indicator in many diseases, particularly sepsis. However, the effect of qSOFA score on prognosis and mortality in critical care patients has not been sufficiently analyzed. There is not enough data, especially regarding its use as critical care mortality and prognosis scoring.

The association of interleukin-6, interleukin-27, and body roundness index with gestational diabetes mellitus.

We aimed to investigate the relationship between GDM and IL-27, IL-6, and body roundness index (BRI), a new anthropometric measurement more sensitive than BMI in identifying obesity and predicting cardiometabolic outcomes. Delirium After Pregabalin Withdrawal.

Pregabalin is a γ-amino butyric acid analogue drug that is used in fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, spinal cord injury, and postherpetic neuralgia. Symptoms reported in association with pregabalin withdrawal include insomnia, gastrointestinal distress, tachycardia, and headache. This case report describes a 68-year-old patient who developed delirium after experiencing pregabalin withdrawal.

Readability, understandability, and quality of retinopathy of prematurity information on the web.

Background: The purpose of this study is to assess the readability, understandability, and quality of information on retinopathy of prematurity presented at websites frequently visited by parents.

Methods: A total of 220 websites were assessed, which were recruited by searching for "retinopathy of prematurity" at the Google search engine. The readability of each web page was assessed by Flesch Reading Ease Score, Gobbledygook's Gunning Frequency, Flesch Kincaid Grade Level, Coleman Liau score, The Simple Measure of Gobbledygook, Fry Graph Readability Formula, and Automated readability score.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine quantitative testicular tissue stiffness values in normal and infertile men using shear wave elastography (SWE), and to evaluate the relationship between infertility and testicular stiffness value.

Methods: In total, 100 testes of 50 infertile patients with abnormal semen parameters were classified as group A, and 100 testes of 50 control subjects were classified as group B. These two groups were compared in terms of age, testicular volume, and SWE values.

Objectives: Enuresis is one of the most frequently seen psycho-social problems in childhood, which causes anxiety and stress in the child, thus affecting his/her self-respect and quality of life. The aim of the study was to determine the role of bladder function or psychologic factors or both as factors causing enuresis.

Methods: This study on pediatric patients with primary enuresis included 30 patients with monosymptomatic nocturnal enuresis (MonoNE), 30 patients with polysymptomatic nocturnal enuresis (PolyNE), and 30 healthy controls, making a total of 90 subjects with an age range of 8-18.

The relationship between LCS6 polymorphism and endometrium cancer.

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between LCS6 mutation and endometrial cancer (EC). The study included 105 patients who had hysterectomy for benign reasons and 99 EC patients. The patients with Type 1 EC were classified according to histological properties, cancer stage, grade, tumour dimension, myometrial invasion (MMI), lymphovascular invasion (LVI), cytology, and number of positive lymph nodes.

Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the readability levels of informed consent forms used in Turkey before urological surgery and to compare the readability levels of open, endoscopic, and laparoscopic surgical informed consent forms.

Material And Methods: A total of 529 informed consent forms used for urological open, endoscopic, and laparoscopic surgical procedures were collected from different hospitals in Turkey. Evaluating informed consent forms that have exactly the same text only once, a total of 69 consent forms were evaluated.

Shear wave elastography evaluation of testes with non-communicating hydrocele in infants and toddlers: A preliminary study.

Introduction: Shear wave elastography (SWE) is a new technology and non-invasive ultrasound device that can measure tissue rigidity and elasticity.
