Background: While many factors involved in the etiology of developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), one of which is the hormone relaxin. Relaxin concentrations in patients with DDH may lead to pathodynamic changes during hip development by altering the physiological nature of the ligament, as well as by long-term exposure to relaxin during pregnancy. Our objective in this study was to determine the number of relaxin receptors in the ligamentum teres and their role in causing DDH.

Kinematic evaluation via portable sensor system has been increasingly applied in neurological sciences and clinical practice. However, conventional kinematic evaluation rarely extends the context beyond the motor impairment level. In addition, kinematic tasks with numerous items could be complex and time consuming that pose a burden to test applications and data processing.

Robot-assisted arm training (RAT) is an innovative exercise-based therapy that provides highly intensive, adaptive, and task-specific training, yet its effects for stroke individuals with unilateral spatial neglect remain to be explored. The study was aimed to investigate the effects of RAT on unilateral spatial neglect, arm motor function, activities of daily living, and social participation after stroke. In a pilot randomized controlled trial, individuals with unilateral spatial neglect after right hemisphere stroke were equally allocated to intervention group and control group, 45-min training daily, 5 days/week, for 4 weeks.

Background: The free oxygen radicals formed with reperfusion following intestinal ischaemia are extremely toxic for the cells. Glutathione peroxidase, an important enzyme that prevents the formation of reactive oxygen species, requires selenium as a co-factor. This study aims to demonstrate the effects of selenium administration on reducing ischaemia-reperfusion damage.

Osteogenesis imperfecta type XI (OI-XI) and Bruck syndrome type I (BS1) are two rare disorders caused by biallelic variants in the FKBP10, characterized by early-onset bone fractures and progressive skeletal deformities. The patients with OI-XI, also co-segregated with autosomal-recessive epidermolysis bullosa simplex caused by KRT14 variant, have been reported. In this study, the follow-up clinical features of the patients with OI-XI and BS1 phenotypes due to biallelic FKBP10 variants are compared.

Aging is a natural process in which morphological and functional abnormalities in living organisms increase irreversibly. Nicotinamide (NAM) acts both as a precursor of many metabolites and as a cofactor of many enzymes involved in cell energy metabolism, homeostasis of redox balance, and regulation of signaling pathways. In this study, we investigated the effects of NAM treatment on morphological and biochemical changes in testis of old rats.

Objectives: Women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have an increased cardiometabolic risk. Similarly, it was previously shown that atherosclerotic and cardiovascular risk is increased in the general population with lower serum Klotho levels. The aim of this study was to investigate the lotho and thiol/disulfide levels in women with non-obese PCOS compared to healthy controls and also to investigate the relationship of serum Klotho and thiol/disulfide homeostasis with cardiometabolic risk factors.

Background: Stroke produces multiple symptoms, including sensory, motor, cognitive and psychological dysfunctions, among which motor deficit is the most common and is widely recognized as a major contributor to long-term functional disability. Robot-assisted training is effective in promoting upper extremity muscle strength and motor impairment recovery after stroke. Additionally, action observation treatment can enhance the effects of physical and occupational therapy by increasing neural activation.
