Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy is a restrictive surgery that aims to decrease the gastric volume of the patient. This study hypothesized that a higher resected gastric volume to the number of fired staplers ratio is associated with improved postoperative 12th-month outcomes. To analyze the effects of resected gastric volume to the number of fired staplers ratio on postoperative results in patients who underwent sleeve gastrectomy.

Objective: We investigated the accuracy of imaging modalities in diagnosis and outcome of otitis media with effusion by correlating the imaging findings with the preoperative otomicroscopic examinations, tympanometric results, and intraoperative findings in patients who underwent cochlear implant surgery.
Methods: The results of the preoperative physical examination and intraoperative findings of patients younger than 18 years who underwent cochlear implant surgery at a single tertiary institution were recorded from their medical charts. Tympanometries, which were performed in maximum 1 week prior to imaging modalities, were analyzed.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers and a significant cause of death in females worldwide. For effective breast cancer treatment, using systems with a promising delivery of anticancer agents is an important strategy. Peptide 18 (P18), a tumor-homing peptide, shows a high binding affinity toward breast cancer cells.

Background: We aimed to evaluate the effects of minimal enteral nutrition (MEN) on mesenteric blood flow and oxygenation with Doppler USG and Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) during therapeutic hypothermia (TH) in babies with HIE.
Methods: This prospective, randomized-controlled study was composed of infants receiving MEN (study group, n = 30) and infants who were not fed (control group, n = 30) during hypothermia. Infants were monitored continuously with NIRS and mesenteric blood flow velocities were measured with Doppler USG before and after feeding.

Background: Revision total hip arthroplasty (rTHA) is associated with an extended surgical period, an increased hospitalization period, expanded blood loss, and high mortality rates. The purpose of the present study was to assess the risk factors that contribute to in-hospital mortality following aseptic rTHA.
Methods: We performed a retrospective examination of the medical records of all patients who underwent elective rTHA surgery at our tertiary referral arthroplasty center between March 1996 and March 2019.

Sleep quality is directly related to general health and quality of life. Caregivers' sleep disturbances affect not only their own health, but also the optimal care of their patients, with negative consequences such as neglect and medication errors. This study was conducted prospectively in the palliative care unit.

Background: The role of ultrasound has not been evaluated in predicting osteosarcopenia.
Objective: Reduced muscle thickness (MT) and cross-sectional area (CSA) have often been observed in individuals with sarcopenia, reflecting muscle loss and atrophy.
New functional food products with health benefits are currently in high demand among health-conscious consumers. The present research aims to improve the functional properties of yogurt by adding peppermint hydroethanolic extract (PHE) at different doses. The impact of PHE (0%, 2%, 4%, and 6%) on yogurt was studied for acidity, pH, organoleptic quality, antioxidant activity, lipid peroxidation, and fatty acid profile.
