A 2:1 atrioventricular (AV) block can occur anywhere within the conduction system, and noninvasive measurements may not always predict the exact site of the block. Although localization of the block is critical for deciding any treatment, patients should also be carefully questioned about symptoms both at rest and during exertion. A case of 2:1 AV block that was symptomatic only during exertion, appeared infranodal by noninvasive diagnostic methods, but was found to be intranodal on electrophysiological study is reported.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate whether urinary glycosaminoglycans (GAG) levels reflect clinical status in men with lower urinary tract symptoms and if they could be used as a marker in management of overactive bladder (OAB).
Methods: A total of 34 patients were recruited who were admitted with LUTS and diagnosed as having clinically bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) due to prostate enlargement. These newly diagnosed, never treated patients underwent routine investigation, consisting of history, physical examination, PSA, ultrasound, uroflowmetry, assessment of symptoms scored by both International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and Marmara- Overactive Bladder Questionnaire (M-OBQ).

The identification of mitotic figures is essential for the diagnosis, grading, and classification of various different tumors. Despite its importance, there is a paucity of literature reporting the consistency in interpreting mitotic figures among pathologists. This study leverages publicly accessible datasets and social media to recruit an international group of pathologists to score an image database of more than 1000 mitotic figures collectively.

The stone density (SD) is not the same in all parts of the stone due to the heterogeneous nature of the stone and the shock wave (SW) passes through tissues of many different densities until it reaches the stone. These factors affect the success of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL). We aimed to evaluate the effect of the Variation Coefficient of Stone Density (VCSD) and Renal Cortical Tickness (RCT) on the success of ESWL.

Purpose: To investigate the association of pre-photorefractive keratectomy Schirmer-1 test value with post-photorefractive keratectomy central corneal epithelial thickness, ocular surface disease index score, and uncorrected distance visual acuity.
Methods: Patients were categorized according to preoperative Schirmer-1 value: the normal Schirmer Group (n=54; Schirmer-1 test value, >10 mm) and the low Schirmer Group (n=52; Schirmer-1 test value, between 6 and 10 mm). We analyzed ablation depth, visual acuity, result of Schirmer-1 test (with anesthesia), tear film break-up time, ocular surface disease index score, central corneal epithelial thickness, and spherical equivalent refraction.

In our daily practice, when evaluating a frail older patient with rectal cancer, we usually choose to give less treatment. This may be due to concern that the patient will not be able to tolerate radiotherapy.

CTLA-4 (Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte Antigen-4) is an immune regulator molecule that is expressed on a variety of immune cells, including CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. After realizing the significance of this regulator molecule, researchers began to concentrate on its activation or inhibition in cancer. Even though there have been some studies on organ transplantation and autoimmunity, the role of the CTLA-4 molecule in renal transplantation has not been demonstrated.

Purpose: In patients with bilateral primary hyperaldosteronism (PA) and those with unilateral PA who are unwilling or unable to undergo adrenalectomy an increase in plasma renin activity (PRA) provided by mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRAs) therapy reflects sufficient antagonism for elevated aldosterone. Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2-i) have cardiovascular, renal protective properties and some clinical data have shown an increase in PRA levels with SGLT2-i. Here, we present our experience of using SGLT2-i in PA patients with suppressed PRA despite 100 mg/day spironolactone therapy.
