Metal-organic framework (UiO-66 (Zr) was synthesized using polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and used as an adsorbent for extraction and preconcentration of steroid hormones in river water. Polyethylene waste bottles were used as the source of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) ligands. The UIO-66(Zr), which the PET was made from recycled waste plastics, was used for the first time for the extraction and preconcentration of four different types of steroid hormones in river water samples.

Chemical weathering is regarded as a "geological thermostat", affecting the global carbon cycle and long-term climate stability, and hydrochemistry of river is the important way to study weathering. The Heilong River (Amur River), as one of the largest rivers in the temperate/cool temperate zone, has received few studies on the chemical weathering rate and its contribution to the global carbon cycle in the entire Chinese section. This paper presents the hydrochemistry of river water, lake water, and groundwater from the arid upper reaches, the Greater Hinggan Mountains in the middle reaches, and the fluvial plain in the lower reaches of the Heilong River.

Antimicrobial resistance is an existential threat to the health sector, with far-reaching consequences in managing microbial infections. In this study, one hundred and ninety-four isolates were profiled for susceptibility using disc diffusion techniques. Possible foodborne listeriosis risk associated with ready-to-eat (RTE) foods (RTEF) and the risk of empirical treatment (EMPT) of infections, using multiple antimicrobial resistance indices (MARI) and antimicrobial resistance indices (ARI), respectively, were investigated.

In this report, a GO:FeO nanocomposite was synthesized using a one-step covalent attachment approach using a sol-gel technique. The optical absorbance, photoconductive, photo-capacitive, and electrical properties were obtained using spectroscopy, and current-voltage (-) measurements. An enhanced optical absorbance with corresponding band gap reduction is observed when FeO nanoparticles are incorporated in GO.

South Africa adopts intensive livestock farming, embracing the employment of huge quantities of antibiotics to meet the increased demand for meat. Methods: The conjugates were characterised by HNMR, particle size analysis, SEM, LC-MS, TEM/EDX, and XRD, followed by anti-acetylcholinesterase and drug release studies.

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and Mobile genetic elements (MGEs) are major global emerging pollutants of the environment and water nexus which various investigators of related studies have reported. Observing ARGs and MGEs in water bodies, wastewater treatment systems, and estuaries is indicative of relevant risk, resistant bacteria/ARGs spread or potential health concern and may result environmental pathogen bloom if appropriate research-based strategies are not implemented to remove these lethal genetic materials. Despite reports and knowledge-based strategies for removal, the challenge yet persists.

Nanoscale FeS and FeS mixed phases were synthesized by one-pot decomposition of (-anil--piperldtc)Fe1 as FeS#1), (-piperldtc)Fe2 as FeS#2) and (-anildtc)Fe3 as FeS#3) complexes as precursors, with the help of tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO) coordinating solvent. Their morphology, stability, size, optical and structural characteristics were observed using various material characterization instruments. In comparison to the FeS#2 nano-flower shape, FeS#1 and FeS#3 have a uniform nano-rod shape.
