Background And Aims: Identifying potential high-risk groups of oxaliplatin-induced liver injury (OILI) is valuable, but tools are lacking. So artificial neural network (ANN) and logistic regression (LR) models will be developed to predict the risk of OILI.

Methods: The medical information of patients treated with oxaliplatin between May and November 2016 at 10 hospitals was collected prospectively.

Depending on the trading modes, the effect of Outward Foreign Direct Investment (OFDI) on the manufacturing industry's position within the global value chain (GVC) may differ considerably. This paper examines the GVC position of China's manufacturing industry from 2003 to 2018, specifically focusing on the general trade and processing trade. Drawing upon this premise, this paper analyzes the effect and mechanism by which OFDI influences the GVC position of China's manufacturing industry.

How do carbon emissions trading impact the financialization of non-financial companies? Evidence from a quasi-natural experiment in China.

This study examines whether and how carbon trading policy impacts the financialization of non-financial firms, using China emission trading scheme as a quasi-natural experiment. We find that the carbon trading policy exerts a substantial and enduring inhibitory effect on corporate financialization. Our findings are robust to possible result bias and more precise control group.

Why do sports goods manufacturers choose different corporate social responsibility engagements?

This study examines the impact of financialization and product market competition on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) engagements in sports goods manufacturing industry. Utilizing a dataset of China's listed firms, we employ textual analysis to identify organizations within this sector and create a panel data model to analyze the determinants of CSR engagements. Our empirical findings reveal that financialization and product market competition positively influence shareholder-related CSR engagements.

Industrial agglomeration, FDI, and carbon emissions: new evidence from China's service industry.

In the context of economic servitization and low carbonization, the problem of carbon emissions in the service industry is worthy of attention. An essential channel for restraining carbon emissions from the service industry is industrial agglomeration. Based on provincial panel data from 2004 to 2021 in China, this study empirically analyzes the influence of the service industry's agglomeration on its CO emissions.

Can local People's Congress supervision improve the expenditure behavior of local governments? Evidence from provincial budget review.

The Local People's Congress budget review and supervision is an important measure to "effectively safeguard and improve people's livelihood" under the changes of the current major contradictions. Using the multi period DID method, we found that after the revision of the regulations, the local people's livelihood public service expenditure bias and expenditure efficiency were significantly improved. This conclusion is still valid after considering a series of robustness tests and possible explanations.

The "spillover effect" of long-term care insurance in China on spouses' health and well-being.

This study examined the spillover effect of long-term care insurance (LTCI) on the health outcomes and well-being of spouses for Chinese middle and old-aged adults with expected LTC demand or actual care burdens. Using panel data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study between 2011 and 2018, we investigated the impact of the introduction of LTCI pilots across several cities on old individuals by using the difference-in-differences (DID) approach. We found a spillover effect of LTCI on the health and well-being outcomes of spouses of middle and old-aged individuals with functional limitations.

The role of social capital in shaping livelihood for rural Vietnamese households.

This study explores the role of social capital in the livelihoods of rural households in Vietnam, examining both direct and indirect impacts. The author uses a revised sustainable livelihood framework to analyze social capital, focusing on bonding-bridging and linking forms. The study applies quantitative methods to a secondary dataset from a rural household survey, including entropy-weighted indicators, cluster analysis, and SEM models.

Exploring the optimal threshold of FDI inflows for carbon-neutral growth in Africa.

This study investigates the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and CO emissions in Africa, primarily emphasizing carbon-neutral growth. Employing advanced econometric methods like the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), fixed effect, and Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS), we identify critical threshold values for key variables, including economic growth, trade openness, human capital, financial development, inflation, and population growth. Our findings indicate that GDP significantly influences the FDI-CO emissions relationship as economies expand, shifting from negative to positive, potentially leading to increased carbon emissions.

Impact of informal caregiving on caregivers' subjective well-being in China: a longitudinal study.

Background: While informal caregiving is crucial for improving and maintaining health of the elderly, there is limited evidence of its potential effect on caregivers' wellbeing. Understanding this effect is important for policy makers to design effective long-term care policies. This longitudinal study aims to investigate the impact of informal caregiving on caregivers' subjective wellbeing in China.

The collaborative development of graduate education and high economic quality and its dynamic evolution forecast.

To promote the coordinated development of high quality postgraduate education and economy is the realization of all-round construction of the socialist modernization of China power.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2009 to 2021, this paper constructs the index of graduate education and high-quality economic development respectively, and analyzes it by coupling coordination model, kernel density estimation and spatial Markov chain model.The results show that: first, the postgraduate education and the high economic quality of most provinces in China are matched, but there is a significant difference between the eastern and western regions in their collaborative development; Second, the level of synergistic development between graduate education and high economic quality is low, and the central and northeastern regions are seriously divided, but the differences in synergistic effects between different regions are narrowing.

Influence of language use on migrant workers' willingness to Urban settlement-based on the CLDS 2016 survey data.

In the framework of China new urbanization construction, migrant workers are of great significance for urban sustainable development. Based on the data of CLDS2016, we used the multi- -ordered Logistics model to effectively explore the influence of migrant workers ' language use on the urban settlement will. The research results showed that the mastery of the urban dialect and the language used after work had a significant impact on the willingness of the migrant workers in the urban settlement, while the language used at work had no significant impact on the migrant workers' willingness to settle in cities.

Effectiveness of a government-led, multiarm intervention on early childhood development and caregiver mental health: a study protocol for a factorial cluster-randomised trial in rural China.

Introduction: The high incidences of both the developmental delay among young children and the mental health problems of their caregivers are major threats to in low-income and middle-income countries. Parental training interventions during early childhood have been shown to benefit early development, yet evidence on strategies to promote caregiver mental health remains limited. In addition, evidence on the optimal design of scalable interventions that integrate early child development and maternal mental health components is scarce.

Financial inclusion, environmental degradation, and the moderating role of ICT: a global perspective.

This study aims to investigate the global perspective on the relationship between financial inclusion and environmental degradation, taking into account the potential moderating role of information and communication technology (ICT). The research utilizes panel data from 131 countries, covering the period of 1995 to 2019. The findings show that financial inclusion has significant and positive impact on carbon emissions, implying that as financial inclusion increases, so do carbon emissions.

Effects of integrated nutrient management and urea deep placement on rice yield, nitrogen use efficiency, farm profits and greenhouse gas emissions in saline soils of Bangladesh.

Soil salinity is one of the major yield-limiting factors in the coastal ecosystems of Bangladesh. An efficient fertilizer management practice and selection of appropriate crop cultivars could play a crucial role in improving yield and promoting low-carbon agriculture across saline soils. A two-year multi-location field experiment was conducted during the Boro (dry) season (December-April) to investigate the effects of fertilizer management and rice cultivar selection on rice yield, economic viability, and global warming potential (GWP) in coastal saline soils of Bangladesh.

Variation trend prediction of ground-level ozone concentrations with high-resolution using landscape pattern data.

Scientifically configuring landscape patterns based on their relationship with ground-level ozone concentrations (GOCs) is an effective way to prevent and control ground-level ozone pollution. In this paper, a GOC variation trend prediction model (hybrid model) combining a generalized linear model (GLM) and a logistic regression model (LRM) was established to analyze the spatiotemporal variation patterns in GOCs as well as their responses to landscape patterns. The model exhibited satisfactory performance, with percent of samples correctly predicted (PCP) value of 82.

Deleveraging and decapacity: A comparative analysis of corporate capital allocation based on asset reversibility.

China's stimulus policies have caused overleveraging and overcapacity for the sustainable development of most industries (particularly high-pollution and energy-intensive industries). Thus, deleveraging and decapacity have become the two best options for the above industries to achieve long-term sustainable development. Based on China's A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2019, this study investigated the effect of deleveraging and decapacity on corporate capital allocation using fixed effects, propensity score matching (PSM) and difference-in-differences (DID).
