The literature on the impact of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) on orthodontic management or vice versa lacks clarity. This study presents a review that aims to evaluate the influence of TMDs on orthodontic management and explore the association between TMDs and various aspects of orthodontic treatment. A systematic search was conducted across multiple databases to identify relevant articles documenting the correlation between TMD incidence and orthodontic treatment to achieve the objectives.

Background And Objectives: Both invasive and minimally invasive surgical methods have recently gained popularity in accelerating orthodontic tooth movement. Traditional corticotomy (TC) was one of the first effective invasive surgical techniques in shortening orthodontic treatment time, whereas the flapless cortico-alveolar perforations (FCAPs) technique is a modern minimally invasive method that has recently shown good results in different types of orthodontic tooth movement. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the effectiveness of TC versus FCAPs in maxillary canine retraction when treating Class II division 1 malocclusion patients.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the levels of pain, discomfort, and functional impairment associated with the en-masse retraction of the upper anterior teeth when treating Class II division 1 malocclusion patients using traditional corticotomy or flapless corticotomy. In addition, an assessment of patients' satisfaction with the selected surgical intervention was undertaken at one-month post-operatively.
Materials And Methods: The study sample comprised 40 patients with Class II division 1 malocclusion, randomly assigned to either the traditional corticotomy group (n=20) or the flapless corticotomy group (n=20).

2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), a potent environmental contaminant, is an endocrine disrupter with a proven reproductive toxicity in mammals. However, its effects on male fertility across generations are still elusive. The current work evaluates the toxicity of dioxin on male reproductive system in two separate groups of BALB/C mice; a group of pubertal males directly exposed to TCDD (referred to as DEmG), and a group of indirectly exposed males (referred to as IDEmG) comprises of F1, F2 and F3 males born from TCDD-exposed pregnant females.

Introduction: The traditional methods of deboning metal brackets exert excessive force, resulting in enamel scratches, fractures, and patient discomfort. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of using two intensity levels of a diode laser for debonding metallic orthodontic brackets as an alternative to the conventional debonding method.
Materials And Methods: Sixty intact, extracted human premolar teeth were used in this study, and metal orthodontic brackets were bonded to the buccal surface of these teeth.

Objectives: This study aimed to compare the bond strength and enamel damage following debonding of metal brackets cured by different light-curing modes: conventional, soft start, and pulse delay modes.
Material And Methods: Sixty extracted upper premolars were randomly divided into three groups according to the used light-curing mode. Metal brackets were bonded with a light-emitting diode device employing different modes.

Objective: To compare the post-treatment periodontal status of the palatally impacted canines and their adjacent teeth treated by an accelerated minimally-invasive corticotomy-assisted method versus the conventional traction method.
Material And Methods: A parallel-group two-arm randomized controlled trial was conducted on patients with palatally or mid-alveolar unilateral impacted canines. Participants were randomly selected and allocated to receive the conventional treatment (CT) with a closed surgical approach, or accelerated treatment (CAT).

Non-coding microRNAs (miRNAs) have important roles in regulating the expression of liver mRNAs in response to xenobiotic-exposure, but their roles concerning dioxins such as TCDD (2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin) are less clear. This report concerns the potential implication of liver (class I) and circulating (class II) miRNAs in hepatotoxicity of female and male mice after acute exposure to TCDD. The data show that, of a total of 38 types of miRNAs, the expression of eight miRNAs were upregulated in both female and male mice exposed to TCDD.

Background: Although the widespread cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a diagnosing tool for impacted canines, the surgical exposure-based diagnostic accuracy of this 3D imaging modality has not been established yet. Therefore this study aimed to (1) compare the accuracy of CBCT- and 2D-based interpretations of impacted canine and its relationships with the neighbouring structures with the gold standard (GS) readings, (2) and calculate the diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity values of the variables assessed using CBCT and 2D methods.
Material And Methods: Patients with unilateral impacted maxillary canines (IMCs) planned for surgical extraction between 2016-2018 were checked in-depth to include in this cross-sectional study.

Background And Objectives: Investigation into the impact of dental trauma on the results of orthodontic treatment is crucial because it can have a major influence on patient care. However, there has not yet been a thorough review or meta-analysis of the available data, which is inconsistent and scant. Therefore, the goal of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to investigate the impact of dental trauma on orthodontic parameters.

Mammalian lipid droplets (LDs) are specialized cytosolic organelles consisting of a neutral lipid core surrounded by a membrane made up of a phospholipid monolayer and a specific population of proteins that varies according to the location and function of each LD. Over the past decade, there have been significant advances in the understanding of LD biogenesis and functions. LDs are now recognized as dynamic organelles that participate in many aspects of cellular homeostasis plus other vital functions.

The normal umbilical cord is a crucial component during pregnancy, but sometimes it could become compromised due to some abnormalities such as excessive long umbilical cord, and though they usually end up with a healthy baby, they may lead to severe consequences. Excessive long umbilical cords are found in 4% of pregnancies and represent a risk factor for nuchal cords and true knots. We report a case of a 37-year-old Syrian pregnant woman who presented to the hospital at 37 weeks of gestation asking for a C-section for a fear of ambiguous ultrasound findings that have been interpreted as fetal malformation.

Insufficient evidence regarding the effects of chincup therapy on the mandibular dimensions and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) structures requires high-quality studies using three-dimensional (3D) imaging. This trial aimed to evaluate the 3D changes in the mandible, condyles, and glenoid fossa after chin cup therapy for skeletal Class III children compared to untreated controls. A 2-arm parallel-group randomized controlled trial on 38 prognathic children (21 boys and 17 girls), with mean ages 6.
