Objective: The present study aimed to evaluate low-dose oral misoprostol induction, and compare different methods used in second-line induction in patients with a Bishop score less than 6.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed the medical history and courses of pregnancy of all patients induced with first-line of low-dose oral misoprostol (50 μg every 4 h with a total of 200 μg/24 h) from April 2021 to June 2022 in a university hospital center, and reported outcomes according to the second-line method of induction.
Results: Among 437 labor inductions with low-dose oral misoprostol, 120 patients required a second-line induction.

Background: Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy is a hereditary progressive myopathy caused by aberrant expression of the transcription factor DUX4 in skeletal muscle. No approved disease-modifying treatments are available for this disorder. We aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of losmapimod (a small molecule that inhibits p38α MAPK, a regulator of DUX4 expression, and p38β MAPK) for the treatment of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy.

Purpose: Breast brachytherapy (BB) represents an important radiation therapy modality in modern breast cancer treatments. Currently, BB is mainly used for accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI), local boost after whole breast radiation therapy (WBRT), and as salvage re-irradiation after second lumpectomy (APBrl). Two multi-catheter interstitial brachytherapy (MIB) techniques can be offered: intra-operative (IOB) and post-operative (POB) brachytherapy.

Onychocytic matricoma (OCM) is a benign neoplasm of the nail matrix. Only 18 cases of this tumor have been reported in the literature to date. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical features of 14 patients with OCM.

The main difficulty is the identification of intersegmental boundary lines which dictate postoperative morbidities.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study to compare the perioperative outcomes of patients who underwent minimally invasive segmentectomy using the traditional deflation-inflation method or the novel indocyanine green (ICG) technique.

Purpose: To analyze late toxicity after very accelerated partial breast irradiation (VAPBI) for low-risk breast cancer.
Materials: Methods: In this retrospective, observational, international multicenter study (HDH F20220713143949), patients with low-risk breast cancer underwent lumpectomy + vAPBI (high-dose rate multicatheter interstitial brachytherapy-MIBT). VAPBI was performed with 4(4x6.

Purpose: For second ipsilateral breast tumor event (2ndIBTE), conservative treatment (CT) involving wide local excision plus accelerated partial breast reirradiation (APBrI) is increasingly used as an alternative to mastectomy. This study investigates the impact of APBrI technique and multicatheter interstitial high dose-rate brachytherapy (MIB) dosimetry parameters on toxicity and survival in patients with 2ndIBTE.
Materials-methods: Data from patients with 2ndIBTE treated with CT, were analyzed.

Ciguatera, a global issue, lacks adequate capacity for ciguatoxin analysis in most affected countries. The Caribbean region, known for its endemic ciguatera and being home to a majority of the global small island developing states, particularly needs established methods for ciguatoxin detection in seafood and the environment. The radioligand receptor binding assay (r-RBA) is among the in vitro bioassays currently used for ciguatoxin analysis; however, similarly to the other chemical-based or bioassays that have been developed, it faces challenges due to limited standards and interlaboratory comparisons.

Carbonate geothermometry is a fundamental tool for quantitative assessment of the geothermal and geochemical evolution of diagenetic and hydrothermal systems, but it remains difficult to obtain accurate and precise formation temperatures of low-temperature calcite samples (below ~ 40 to 60 °C). Here, we apply three geothermometry methods (∆-thermometry, nucleation-assisted fluid inclusion microthermometry-hereafter NA-FIM-and oxygen isotope thermometry) to slow-growing subaqueous calcite spar samples to cross-validate these methods down to 10 °C. Temperatures derived by NA-FIM and Δ-thermometry agree within the 95% confidence interval, except for one sample.

Objective: To consider the classical use of "pH < 7.0 and/or a base deficiency ≥12 mmol/L" as markers of the risk of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), recalling various criticisms of the use of these markers in favor of that of neonatal eucapnic pH, which appears to be a better marker of this risk.
Methods: Fifty-five cases of acidemia with pH < 7.

Purpose: To evaluate the oncological outcome after stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for oligoprogressive metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (omCRPC) patients.
Materials-methods: In this retrospective, observational, multi-institutional study, omCRPC patients (≤5 metastases) underwent SBRT. Primary endpoint was systemic therapy escalation-free survival (STE-FS) after SBRT.

Background: The National French Assembly promoted a law in 2022 allowing an extension of the period of abortion up to 16 week's amenorrhea. Medication protocols vary internationally, and there are no French data on medical management between 14- and 16-weeks' amenorrhea.
Objective: To assess effectiveness and feasibility of a medical management abortion between 14 and 16 weeks of amenorrhea.

Introduction: The quantification of blood loss in a severe trauma patient allows prognostic quantification and the engagement of adapted therapeutic means. The Advanced Trauma Life Support classification of hemorrhagic shock, based in part on hemodynamic parameters, could be improved. The search for reproducible and non-invasive parameters closely correlated with blood depletion is a necessity.

Effective public health interventions at local level must involve communities and stakeholders beyond the health services spectrum. A dedicated venue for structured discussion will ensure ongoing multi-sectoral collaboration more effectively than convening meetings. Such a venue can be created using existing resources, at minimal extra cost.

Background: The best platinum-based chemotherapy regimen remains to be determined in elderly patients treated with definitive chemoradiotherapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Predictive indexes for toxicity and survival are also needed to give the safest and most effective treatment for this population.
Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study.

Introduction: Context: The development of knee osteoarthritis (OA) after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is now widely recognized. The impact of surgical or non-surgical management on the development of post-traumatic osteoarthritis is still debated in the medical community. Here, we present a meta-analysis comparing the impact of surgical or non-surgical management of ACL injuries on the development of knee OA.

Introduction: The role of local ablative treatments, including stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), is an area of active research in oligometastatic patients. Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) has a poor prognosis, with common diffuse metastatic evolution. We evaluated the outcomes after SBRT in uncommon oligoprogressive/oligorecurrent SCLC presentation.

Purpose: Identification of metabolomic biomarkers of high SBR grade in non-metastatic breast cancer.
Methods: This retrospective bicentric metabolomic analysis included a training set ( = 51) and a validation set ( = 49) of breast cancer tumors, all classified as high-grade (grade III) or low-grade (grade I-II). Metabolomes of tissue samples were studied by liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry.

Background: The value, if any, of anti-IgE approaches in the treatment of atopic dermatitis has not been fully clarified. Studies using the anti-IgE omalizumab have yielded conflicting results.
Objective: Antibodies with an IgE-suppressive capacity stronger than omalizumab might be more efficacious.

We describe the case of a 54-year-old man with a history of non-small cell lung cancer for which we performed a right upper sleeve lobectomy after chemotherapy. Pathologic examination reported a ypT1 N1 M0 R0 epidermoid carcinoma. Two years later, a local recurrence involving the tracheal carina and the previous anastomosis line was diagnosed.
