The aim of the study was to identify distinct trajectories of perceived stress and control in athletes across a season of sports competitions and whether these trajectory memberships could be predicted by subdimensions of the emotional intelligence (EI). Latent class growth analyses were performed on a five-stage longitudinal measurement plan (to cover the entire sporting season). Four hundred fifteen athletes answered to the Brief Emotional Intelligence Scale, the Mastery Scale, the Perceived Stress Scale, and the Attainment of Sport Achievement Goal Scale.

Purpose: To assess subretinal fibrosis (SF) occurrence in neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), according to macular neovascularisation (MNV) subtypes.
Methods: A Retrospective national multi centre cohort study included eyes with naive nAMD. Main outcome measures were, according to MNV subtypes, cumulative incidence for SF, risk factors, and best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) for 36 months.

Purpose: Study on the effect of psychological skills training on self-esteem (SE) in young athletes.
Method: 10 swimmers and 35 volleyball players, split into an intervention group (25) and a control group (18). The intervention entailed a 3-week psychological skills training program covering arousal management, breathing, relaxation, mental imagery, and self-talk.

Objectives: This study explored whether several subgroups of athletes representing distinct trajectories of intensity and direction of pleasant and unpleasant emotions (anger, anxiety, dejection, excitement, and happiness) could be shown to exist within the latent growth analysis (LCGA). A secondary objective was to examine whether athletes belonging to distinct trajectories of intensity and direction of emotions reported distinct scores of adaptive defense mechanisms (ADM) and maladaptive defense mechanisms (MDM).
Design: A longitudinal four-wave measurement design was used in the present study.

The sympathetic nervous system controls bodily functions including vascular tone, cardiac rhythm, and the "fight-or-flight response". Sympathetic chain ganglia develop in parallel with preganglionic motor nerves extending from the neural tube, raising the question of whether axon targeting contributes to sympathetic chain formation. Using nerve-selective genetic ablations and lineage tracing in mouse, we reveal that motor nerve-associated Schwann cell precursors (SCPs) contribute sympathetic neurons and satellite glia after the initial seeding of sympathetic ganglia by neural crest.

Background: 5D, free-running imaging resolves sets of 3D whole-heart images in both cardiac and respiratory dimensions. In an application such as coronary imaging when a single, static image is of interest, computationally expensive offline iterative reconstruction is still needed to compute the multiple 3D datasets.
Purpose: Evaluate how the number of physiologic bins included in the reconstruction affects the computational cost and resulting image quality of a single, static volume reconstruction.

Generation and subsequently accessibility of secondary findings (SF) in diagnostic practice is a subject of debate around the world and particularly in Europe. The French FIND study has been set up to assess patient/parent expectations regarding SF from exome sequencing (ES) and to collect their real-life experience until 1 year after the delivery of results. 340 patients who had ES for undiagnosed developmental disorders were included in this multicenter mixed study (quantitative N = 340; qualitative N = 26).

The study of motivation toward health-oriented physical activity helps to know the reasons that guide people to practice physical activity. Moreover, different types and levels of motivation may coexist. As such, this paper aimed to analyze the combination of motivation for health-oriented physical activity profiles and examine whether profiles differed in emotional regulation and basic psychological needs.

Autophagy is a major degradative pathway that plays a key role in sustaining cell homeostasis, integrity, and physiological functions. Macroautophagy, which ensures the clearance of cytoplasmic components engulfed in a double-membrane autophagosome that fuses with lysosomes, is orchestrated by a complex cascade of events. Autophagy has a particularly strong impact on the nervous system, and mutations in core components cause numerous neurological diseases.

Objectives: Improving the understanding of the patterns of quantitative hepatitis B surface antigen (qHBsAg) trajectories associated with HBsAg loss is important in light of novel anti-hepatitis B virus agents being developed. We evaluated long-term qHBsAg trajectories in persons with HIV and HBV during tenofovir-containing antiretroviral therapy in the Swiss HIV Cohort Study.
Methods: We included 29 participants with and 29 without HBsAg loss, defined as qHBsAg <0.

Beta-propeller protein-associated neurodegeneration (BPAN) is a rare neurodegenerative disease associated with severe cognitive and motor deficits. BPAN pathophysiology and phenotypic spectrum are still emerging due to the fact that mutations in the (WD repeat domain 45) gene, a regulator of macroautophagy/autophagy, were only identified a decade ago. In the first international symposium dedicated to BPAN, which was held in Lyon, France, a panel of international speakers, including several researchers from the autophagy community, presented their work on human patients, cellular and animal models, carrying mutations and their homologs.

This study examined the effect of an asynchronous heart rate variability biofeedback (HRV-BFBasync) protocol on national-level adolescent swimmers' cognitive appraisals and recovery-stress states during a six-week ecological training period. A polynomial mixed-effects multilevel regression analysis approach was used with 27 adolescent national-level swimmers randomly assigned to an intervention group (n = 14) and a control group (n = 13). Six waves of assessments of cognitive appraisals and recovery-stress states were completed during six weeks of training preparation in ecological conditions.

Background: Gain-of-function variants of JAK1 drive a rare immune dysregulation syndrome associated with atopic dermatitis, allergy, and eosinophilia.
Objectives: This study sought to describe the clinical and immunological characteristics associated with a new gain-of-function variant of JAK1 and report the therapeutic efficacy of Janus kinase (JAK) inhibition.
Methods: The investigators identified a family affected by JAK1-associated autoinflammatory disease and performed clinical assessment and immunological monitoring on 9 patients.

Growing evidence has demonstrated that maternal artificial sweetener (AS) consumption may not be a beneficial alternative when compared to sugar-sweetened beverages and potentially leads to metabolic dysfunction in adult offspring. Compromised skin integrity and wound healing associated with type 2 diabetes can lead to complications such as diabetic pressure injury (PI). In this context, the skin plays an important role in the maintenance of metabolic homeostasis, yet there is limited information on the influence of sugar- or AS-sweetened beverages during pregnancy on developmental programming and offspring skin homeostasis.

Even if each rare ovarian tumor (ROT) has a low incidence, the sum of all these entities represents almost the half of all ovarian neoplasms. Thus, development of dedicated clinical trial emerged as a prerequisite to improve their managements. Owing to the spreading of dedicated institutional networks and (supra)national collaborations, the number of clinical trials has increased the past few years, with different types of trials; while some focused on specific molecular features, others assessed innovative molecules.

Objective: The stress level of participants in high-fidelity simulation stems from various factors but may result in anticipatory anxiety causing sleep disturbances during the night prior to simulation. The objective of this survey was to determine the change in sleep quality of residents during the night prior to the simulation.

Objective: This study aimed to propose a revised ypN (r-ypN) classification based on lymph node ratio (LNR) and to examine its prognostic value in postneoadjuvant esophageal cancer.
Background: A new postneoadjuvant pathologic (ypTNM) staging classification has been introduced for esophageal cancer. However, the ypN classification currently defined by the number of positive lymph nodes is influenced by the extent of lymphadenectomy.

The objective of this study was to evaluate perioperative and long-term outcomes of CPA and RPA in a nationwide multicentric series and to compare hemitranspositions (HT) to paired orthotopic liver transplantations (OLT). MATERIAL AND METHODS HT performed in France up to April 2019 were analyzed.
