is an opportunistic and nosocomial pathogen found in the intensive care unit (ICU), but its antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is rarely addressed. Here, we reported two -positive strains, SMBC31 and SMBC50, recovered from the ICU of a hospital in Zhengzhou, China. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined using the broth microdilution method, while S1-PFGE was employed to demonstrate plasmid size approximation.

Increasing evidence has demonstrated that glutaminase (GLS) as a key mitochondrial enzyme plays a pivotal role in glutaminolysis, which widely participates in glutamine metabolism serving as main energy sources and building blocks for tumor growth. However, the roles and molecular mechanisms of GLS in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remains unknown. Here, we found that GLS was highly expressed in ESCC tissues and cells.

Background: Atherosclerosis (AS) is a pathology factor for cardiovascular diseases and instability of atherosclerotic plaques contributes to acute coronary events. This study identified a hub gene VCL for atherosclerotic plaques and discovered its potential therapeutic targets for atherosclerotic plaques.

Methods: Differential expressed genes (DEGs) were screened between unstable and stable plaques from GSE120521 dataset and then used for construction of a protein-protein interactions (PPI) network.

Background: Dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB) is a hereditary disease characterized by increased fragility of the epidermis and mucosa and is accompanied by blister formation following minor trauma. Repeated injuries cause contracture and scar formation, which can further result in hand deformity, leading to a decline in hand ability and a lower quality of life. In this study, after the scar release of patients' hands, we developed a new and practical portable soft support, and evaluated its efficacy in delaying the scar contracture of hands after operation.

Lung cancer has a high morbidity and mortality among malignant tumors, and lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the main type of lung cancer. In recent years, circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been confirmed to play an important role in the generation and development of human cancer. However, the specific role and mechanism of circ-NUP98 in LUAD are still unclear and need to be further investigated.

The use of two-dimensional heterostructure composite as electrode modification material has become a new strategy to improve the electrocatalytic activity and electroactive sites of electrochemical sensor. Herein, a soluble heterostructure, namely rGO-PSS@MXene, was designed and synthesized by integrating poly (sodium p-styrenesulfonate)-functionalized reduced graphene oxide into MXene nanosheets via ultrasonic method. The interactive heterostructure can effectively alleviate the self-stacking of MXene and rGO, endowing them with superior electron transfer capacity and large specific surface area, thereby producing prominent synergistic electrocatalytic effect towards rutin.

Background: Clonorchiasis, caused by the infection of Clonorchis sinensis (C. sinensis), is a kind of neglected tropical disease, but it is highly related to cholangiocarcinoma. It has been well known that NO from chronic inflammation responses are thought to be a major component of the damage and ultimate carcinogenesis ESPs such as nitric oxide synthase interacting protein (NOSIP) are thought to enhance the damage.

Background: Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is a multifactorial disease that is associated with nucleus pulposus (NP) apoptosis and extracellular matrix (ECM) degeneration and inflammation. Astragaloside IV (AS IV) has antioxidant, free radical scavenging, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptosis effects. This study was to investigate whether AS IV could inhibit IL-1β-mediated apoptosis of HNP cells and its possible signal transduction pathway.

The murine heterotopic cardiac transplantation model has been widely used to study antigen-specific immune responses or new immunosuppressive agents, which have a strong correlation with peripheral lymph nodes. Thus, a new organ transplantation model that is applicable to related studies is needed. Here, we describe a groin-site murine heart transplantation model using a cuff technique, in which the donor aorta and pulmonary artery are anastomosed to the truncated femoral vessels of the recipient.

Background: For patients with gastric cancer (GC), effective preoperative identification of peritoneal metastasis (PM) remains a severe challenge in clinical practice. Regrettably, effective early identification tools are still lacking up to now. With the popularization and application of radiomics method in tumor management, some researchers try to introduce it into the early identification of PM in patients with GC.

Disulfide bond A oxidoreductase-like protein (DsbA-L) drives acute kidney injury (AKI) by directly upregulating the expression of voltage-dependent anion-selective channels in proximal tubular cells. However, the role of DsbA-L in immune cells remains unclear. In this study, we used an LPS-induced AKI mouse model to assess the hypothesis that DsbA-L deletion attenuates LPS-induced AKI and explore the potential mechanism of DsbA-L action.

Macrophages are the core of the pathophysiology of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). They participate in specific and non-specific immunological responses, have phagocytosis, chemotaxis and immune regulatory functions, and are involved in the onset and progression of RA. In recent years, research on the pathophysiology of RA has focused on the polarization and functions of classically activated M1 and selectively activated M2 macrophage subtypes.
