Worldwide, Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death and poses a direct health threat, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type. In this study, we demonstrated that centrosomal protein 20 (CEP20) is upregulated in NSCLC tissues and associated with cancer invasion metastasis. Notably, CEP20 depletion inhibited NSCLC cell proliferation, migration, and microtubule polymerization.

Urinary tract cells respond to bladder distension by releasing adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Patients with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) exhibit elevated urinary ATP levels compared to asymptomatic controls. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of urinary ATP as a non-invasive biomarker for IC/BPS and its correlation with symptom severity.

An ultralow-potential electrochemiluminescence (ECL) aptasensor has been designed for zearalenone (ZEN) assay based on a resonance energy transfer (RET) system with SnS QDs/g-CN as a novel luminophore and CuO/NH-UiO-66 as a dual-quencher. SnS QDs were loaded onto g-CN nanosheets and enhanced the ECL luminescence via strong synergistic effects under an ultralow potential. The UV-vis absorption spectrum of CuO/NH-UiO-66 exhibits considerable overlap with the ECL emission spectrum of SnS QDs/g-CN, an important consideration for the RET process.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have shown efficacy in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer (mUC), however, only a small subset of patients could benefit from ICIs. Identifying predictive biomarkers of ICIs in patients with mUC is clinical meaningful for patient stratification and administration.
Methods: Clinical and transcriptomic data of mUC patients treated with ICIs from mUC cohort (IMvigor210 study) was utilized to explore the predictive biomarkers.

Aims: This study aimed to explore whether low-intensity ultrasound (LIUS) combined with low-concentration arsenic trioxide (ATO) could inhibit the proliferation of glioma and, if so, to clarify the potential mechanism.
Main Methods: The effects of ATO and LIUS alone or in combination on glioma were examined by CCK8, EdU, and flow cytometry assays. Western blot analysis was used to detect changes in expression of apoptosis-related proteins and their effects on the EGFR/AKT/mTOR pathway.

Purpose: The aim of the present study was to assess the efficacy and safety of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with atezolizumab and bevacizumab (hereafter, TACE-Atez/Bev) in the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients.
Materials And Methods: Clinical information was collected from consecutive patients with advanced HCC who received treatment with TACE-Atez/Bev or Atez/Bev from April 2021 and October 2022. Treatment response, overall survival (OS), and progression-free survival (PFS) were the primary outcomes of this study.

As a highly lethal adenocarcinoma of the hepatobiliary system, outcomes for cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) patients remain prominently poor with a 5-year survival of <10% due to the lack of effective treatment modalities. Targeted therapeutics for CCA are limited and surgical resection of CCA frequently suffers from a high recurrence rate. Here we report two effective targeted therapeutics in this preclinical study for CCA.

identification of aptamer-binding targets on living cell membrane surfaces is of considerable interest, but a major challenge, specifically, when advancing recognition to the level of membrane receptor subunits. Here we propose a novel nanometal surface energy transfer (NSET) based nanoruler with a single-nucleobase resolution (SN-nanoruler), in which FAM-labeled aptamers and single-sized gold nanoparticle (GNP) antibody conjugates act as a donor and an acceptor. A single nucleobase resolution of the SN-nanoruler was experimentally illustrated by molecular size, orientation, quenching nature, and other dye-GNP pairs.

The combination of immunotherapy and molecular targeted therapy exhibits promising therapeutic efficacy in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but the underlying mechanism is still unclear. Here, phosphoglycerate mutase 1 (PGAM1) is identified as a novel immunometabolic target by using a bioinformatic algorithm based on multiple HCC datasets. PGAM1 is highly expressed in HCC and associated with a poor prognosis and a poor response to immunotherapy.

Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a prominent malignancy often linked to the development of brain metastases (BM), which commonly appear at diverse time intervals (TI) following the lung cancer diagnosis. This study endeavors to determine the prognostic significance of the time interval in patients with NSCLC who undergo BM surgery. Through this investigation, we aim to improve our understanding of the factors impacting the prognosis of BM cases originating from NSCLC.

Background: The watch-and-wait (W&W) strategy is a novel treatment option for patients with rectal cancer who have a strong desire for organ preservation. The study aimed to explore the long-term outcomes of the W&W strategy in a large cohort of rectal cancer patients who achieved a clinical complete response (cCR) after consolidation total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT), and to compare with patients who achieved a pathological complete response (pCR) after radical surgery.
Methods: The W&W group comprised patients who were assessed as having a cCR after consolidation TNT and adopted the W&W strategy.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the survival benefit of consolidative autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (ASCT) in patients with peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCL). In this retrospective study, the ASCT group underwent consolidative ASCT after first-line therapy at 14 transplantation centers in China between January 2001 and December 2019. Data were collected over the same time frame for the non-ASCT group from the database of lymphoma patient records at Peking University Cancer Hospital & Institute.

Microneedles have emerged as an innovative platform for efficient transdermal immunotherapies. However, co-delivery of DC vaccines and aPD1 via microneedles has not been studied since conventional microneedle platforms are unsuitable for fragile therapeutics like living cells and antibodies.

Background: Lung large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (L-LCNEC) is a rare and highly aggressive neuroendocrine tumor. There is currently no standard therapeutic regimen, and systemic chemotherapy results in poor prognosis. Due to the rarity of L-LCNEC, the efficacy and safety of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) remain unclear.

Site-specific chemical conjugation has long been a challenging endeavor in the field of ligand-directed modification to produce homogeneous conjugates for precision medicine. Here, we develop a chemical amplification-enabled topological modification (Chem-ATM) methodology to establish a versatile platform for the programmable modification of nucleic acid aptamers with designated functionalities. Differing from conventional conjugation strategies, a three-dimensional artificial base is designed in Chem-ATM as a chemical amplifier, giving access to structurally and functionally diversified conjugation of aptamers, with precise control over loading capacity but in a sequence-independent manner.
