Blunt cardiac rupture (BCR) is a rare injury with a high mortality rate. It is usually caused by high-energy traumatic accidents, such as motor vehicle collisions. For the first time, we report a rare case of BCR caused by a pedestrian collision with a stationary motor vehicle, which is a low-energy traumatic accident.

Background: We sought to evaluate the safety and feasibility of single-stage treatment with left iliac vein stenting and saphenous stripping in patients with left iliac vein compression (LIVC) and left great saphenous vein (GSV) incompetence.
Method: s: We conducted a prospective cohort study of 72 patients diagnosed with LIVC and left GSV incompetence between June 2012 to Oct 2018. We evaluated the periprocedural, 30-day, and 1-year outcomes of venous clinical severity score (VCSS), Chronic Venous Insufficiency Questionnaire 2 (CIVIQ2), the success rate of stent placement, duration of intervention, length of hospital stay, duplex recurrence, and clinically visible recurrence.

This study aimed to examine the prognostic significance of peripheral absolute monocyte count (AMC) in combination with absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) at the time of relapse in a cohort of 57 patients with early relapsed (first complete remission <12 months) acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Both univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression analyses revealed that normal AMC in combination with normal/high ALC (versus low/high AMC in combination with low ALC) was significantly associated with improved OS. We concluded that the combination of AMC and ALC could be used as a prognostic marker for survival outcomes in early relapsed AML.

Lung cancer is a malignancy with the highest morbidity and mortality in the world. Radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy have been widely used to treat metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), also known as stereotactic ablation radiotherapy (SABR), can precisely deliver a high dose of radiation to a target in a limited area.

Acute pulmonary embolism (APE) is one of the prominent causes of death in patients with cardiovascular disease. Currently, reliable biomarkers to predict the prognosis of patients with APE are limited. The present study aimed to investigate the association of blood urea nitrogen to serum albumin (B/A) ratio and intensive care unit (ICU) mortality in critically ill patients with APE.

Aims: Chloroquine (CQ) has been repurposed to treat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Understanding the pharmacokinetics (PK) in COVID-19 patients is essential to study its exposure-efficacy/safety relationship and provide a basis for a possible dosing regimen optimization.
Subject And Methods: In this study, we used a population-based meta-analysis approach to develop a population PK model to characterize the CQ PK in COVID-19 patients.

Chloroquine (CQ) phosphate has been suggested to be clinically effective in the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). To develop a physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model for predicting tissue distribution of CQ and apply it to optimize dosage regimens, a PBPK model, with parameterization of drug distribution extrapolated from animal data, was developed to predict human tissue distribution of CQ. The physiological characteristics of time-dependent accumulation was mimicked through an active transport mechanism.
