Thin films and coatings based on Group 6 metal tungsten (W) have garnered intense interest for applications including catalysis, lubrication, and solar energy. Due to its selectivity and conformality, atomic layer deposition (ALD) has emerged as a key route towards oxides, dichalcogenides, and elemental metal films of W. Two-dimensional (2D) molybdenum disulfide (MoS) layers are suitable for visible-to-near infrared photodetection owing to their tunable optical bandgaps. Also, their superior mechanical deformability enabled by an extremely small thickness and van der Waals (vdW) assembly allows them to be structured into unconventional physical forms, unattainable with any other materials. Herein, we demonstrate a new type of 2D MoS layer-based rollable photodetector that can be mechanically reconfigured while maintaining excellent geometry-invariant photo-responsiveness.

Metal halide perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs), with excellent electronic and optical properties, are promising for a variety of optoelectronic and photonic applications. However, the instability issue still impedes their practical applications. Here a ligand-assisted swelling-deswelling microencapsulation (LASDM) strategy is proposed and evaluated for improving the stability and photoluminescence (PL) performance of PNCs.

We report the formation of multi-layer nylon-6 (PA-6) nanofibrous membranes by electrostatic spinning coupled with a hot pressing process. The structure and porosity of multi-layer PA-6 nanofibrous membranes were characterized using a scanning electron microscope and the N nitrogen adsorption and desorption isotherms. We show that multi-layer PA-6 nanofibrous membranes can be used for efficient and continuous indigo dye filtration.
