Purpose: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impact of the aortic bifurcation (AB) morphological characteristics, analyzed on computed tomography angiography (CTA), on outcomes of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs), treated by endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) in a single-center experience.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted using a prospectively collected database. Morphological features considered as potentially impacting outcomes were maximum AB diameter (AB), minimum diameter (AB), mean diameter (AB), AB area (AB), and AB calcification (AB) and thrombosis (AB).

Background: To evaluate early and long-term outcomes of symptomatic patients treated for in-stent carotid restenosis (ISR) with carotid bypass (CB).
Methods: Data were retrospectively collected from a prospectively compiled database on patients treated with CB in two high-volume Italian centers between 2008 and 2016, for symptomatic high-grade ISR after CAS. After carotid endarterectomy and stent removal, a greater saphenous vein (GSV) was preferentially employed as the graft; when the GSV was not accessible, a 6mm polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) graft was implanted.

Elongation, coils, and kinks of carotid vessels are rare conditions, and these are often asymptomatic. Rarely, kinking may provide functional symptoms, requiring surgical correction. We report an unusual case of internal carotid artery kinking causing pharynx compression with dysphagia.

Context: Advanced Glycation End-Products (AGEs) are signaling proteins associated to several vascular and neurological complications in diabetic and non-diabetic patients. AGEs proved to be a marker of negative outcome in both diabetes management and surgical procedures in these patients. The reported role of AGEs prompted the development of pharmacological inhibitors of their effects, giving rise to a number of both preclinical and clinical studies.

Introduction: In literature, there is evidence that all stakeholders need to be involved in the curricula building process to make sure that health professionals are "educated" to meet the stakeholders' "demands". In Italy, the involvement of stakeholders in the definition of university curricula is ratified by various regulations.
Aims: To describe the major experiences of stakeholder involvement in nursing education, identify the main stakeholders for nursing education, and the processes in which they are involved.

Background: The aims of this study were to determine the effect of failed prior endovascular treatment (EV) on early and midterm outcomes of subsequent lower extremity open surgical (OS) bypass.
Methods: Patients undergoing infrainguinal bypass for critical limb ischemia (CLI) from January 2008 to December 2011 were retrospectively reviewed. The results after first-line bypass and bypass after failure of EV treatment were compared.

Introduction: Oxaliplatin, a third-generation platinum analogue, is a novel compound with proven anti-tumor activity in colorectal cancer. Moreover, oxaliplatin appears to be relatively well tolerated and easy to handle, even on an outpatient basis.
Patients And Methods: Five advanced colorectal cancer patients treated with oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy developed, after the end of oxaliplatin infusion, similar idiosyncratic reactions characterized by chills, high fever, hypotension, abdominal pain, nausea and often diarrhoea.
