Background And Aims: Diabetes has been well recognized as a strong predictor for adverse outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), however, studies in the era of drug-eluting stent and potent P2Y12 inhibitors have shown conflicting results. We aimed to assess ischemic and bleeding outcomes after contemporary PCI according to diabetic status.
Methods: We studied 15,957 patients undergoing PCI for stable or acute coronary syndrome in the GLOBAL LEADERS study with known baseline diabetic status.

Infiltration of the prostatic ducts by prostatic adenocarcinoma occurs relatively frequently, being most commonly associated with high grade disease. It is now recognised that intraductal carcinoma of the prostate (IDCP) has an associated poor prognosis and this is reflected in its histological, molecular and immunohistochemical features. The current recommendation of the World Health Organization is that IDCP not be taken into consideration when grading prostate adenocarcinoma.

Hippo Tumor Suppressor Pathway is the main pathway for cell growth that regulates tissue enlargement and organ size by limiting cell growth. This pathway is activated in response to cell cycle arrest signals (cell polarity, transduction, and DNA damage) and limited by growth factors or mitogens associated with EGF and LPA. The major pathway consists of the central kinase of Ste20 MAPK (), Hpo () or MST kinases (mammalian) that activates the mammalian AGC kinase Wts or LATS effector (MST and LATS).

The Gleason Grading system has been used for over 50 years to prognosticate and guide the treatment for patients with prostate cancer. At consensus conferences in 2005 and 2014 under the guidance of the International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP), the system has undergone major modifications to reflect modern diagnostic and therapeutic practices. The 2014 consensus conference yielded recommendations regarding cribriform, mucinous, glomeruloid and intraductal patterns, the most significant of which was the removal of any cribriform pattern from Gleason grade 3.

We report an uncommon presentation of bullous dermatosis by linear IgA. There are few cases reported in the literature with this form of presentation starting with mucosal lesions and then evolving into a similar bullous pemphigoid pattern. In addition, we emphasize the importance of direct immunofluorescence for the definitive diagnosis.

Introduction: Drug-eluting stents (DES) are still the standard of care in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) since the fall of bioresorbable scaffolds with respect to safety. The unbeatable advantage of a metallic stent when compared with a scaffold is a stronger mechanical property and more sustainable vascular support. Recent development of contemporary metallic stent has focused on the reduction of strut thickness.

This paper proposes a new communication protocol for output-feedback control through multi-hop Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). The protocol is based on a Hop-by-Hop transport scheme and is especially devised to simultaneously fulfill two conflicting criteria: the network energy consumption and the stability/performance (in terms of H∞ norm) of the closed-loop system. The proposed protocol can be implemented by means of three heuristics, basically using distinct rules to control the maximum number of retransmissions allowed in terms of the voltage level of the batteries of the network nodes.

In , the bacterium that causes citrus canker, three ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters are known to be dedicated to the uptake of sulfur compounds. In this work, using functional, biophysical and structural methods, we showed that NrtT, a periplasmic component of the ABC transporter NrtCB, is an alkanesulfonate-binding protein and that the deletion of the gene affected xantham gum synthesis, adhesion and biofilm production, similarly to the phenotype obtained in the -knockout strain, in which the alkanesulfonate-binding protein SsuA is absent. Although NrtA and SsuA share similar ligands, the function of these proteins is not complementary.

Due to retraction of the nerve stumps, end-to-end neurorrhaphy is usually unfeasible. In such cases, autologous grafts are widely used, nonetheless with some disadvantages, such as mismatching of donor nerve dimensions and formation of painful neuromas at the donor area.
