Background And Purpose: Sinus CT is critically important for the diagnosis of chronic rhinosinusitis. While CT is sensitive for detecting mucosal disease, automated methods for objective quantification of sinus opacification are lacking. We describe new measurements and further clinical validation of automated CT analysis using a convolutional neural network in a chronic rhinosinusitis population.

Unlabelled: The drug-tolerant persister (DTP) state enables cancer cells to evade cytotoxic stress from anticancer therapy. However, the mechanisms governing DTP generation remain poorly understood. Here, we observed that lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) cells and organoids entered a quiescent DTP state to survive MAPK inhibitor treatment.

Background: Racial disparities in heart failure hospitalization and mortality are well established; however, the association between different social determinants of health (SDOH) and length of stay (LOS) and the extent to which this association may differ across racial groups is not well established.
Methods: We utilized data from the Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure registry to evaluate the association between SDOH, as determined by patients' residential ZIP Code and LOS among patients hospitalized with heart failure. We also assessed the race-specific contribution of the ZIP Code-level SDOH to LOS in patients of Black and non-Black races.

Objective: This extended evaluation (EE) of the SONICS study assessed the effects of levoketoconazole for an additional 6 months following open-label, 6-month maintenance treatment in endogenous Cushing's syndrome.
Design/methods: SONICS included dose-titration (150-600 mg BID), 6-month maintenance, and 6-month EE phases. Exploratory efficacy assessments were performed at months 9 and 12 (relative to the start of maintenance).

Pediatric anxiety disorders are characterized by potentiated threat responses and maladaptive emotion regulation (ER). The Late Positive Potential (LPP) is a neural index of heightened attention to emotional stimuli. Anxious individuals typically exhibit a larger LPP to unpleasant stimuli, but the LPP may also be blunted to unpleasant and pleasant stimuli for those with co-morbid depression.

The human cerebral cortex undergoes considerable changes during development, with cortical maturation patterns reflecting regional heterogeneity that generally progresses in a posterior-to-anterior fashion. However, the organizing principles that govern cortical development remain unclear. In the current study, we characterized age-related differences in cortical thickness (CT) as a function of sex, pubertal timing, and two dissociable indices of socioeconomic status (i.

Purpose: To compare choriocapillaris flow deficit (CC-FD) analysis using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in eyes of patients treated with high cumulative dosages of pentosan polysulfate sodium (PPS) but no signs of retinal toxicity versus healthy age-matched controls.
Design: Retrospective clinical cohort study.
Methods: Patients treated with PPS for interstitial cystitis with a cumulative dose of > 1000 g underwent multimodal imaging screening to exclude evidence of PPS maculopathy or other retinal findings.

Purpose: To describe a case of persistent placoid maculopathy (PPM) complicated by macular neovascularization (MNV) that developed in areas of prior choroidal ischemia as illustrated with sequential optical coherence tomography angiography.
Observations: A 65-year-old man presented with unilateral decreased vision and creamy plaque-like macular lesions in both eyes (OU) upon fundus examination. Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) demonstrated inner choroidal ischemia, corresponding to the placoid lesions, that persisted for several months consistent with a diagnosis of PPM.

Objectives: A perception derived from cross-sectional studies of small systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) cohorts is that there is a marked discrepancy between antinuclear antibody (ANA) assays, which impacts on clinicians' approach to diagnosis and follow-up. We compared three ANA assays in a longitudinal analysis of a large international incident SLE cohort retested regularly and followed for 5 years.
Methods: Demographic, clinical and serological data was from 805 SLE patients at enrolment, year 3 and 5.

Purpose: To describe a rare case of intraocular lymphoma that metastasized from cutaneous mycosis fungoides and transformed to large cell T cell lymphoma resulting in vitreoretinal pathology.
Methods: Retrospective case report.
Results: A 57-year-old male presented with 3 months of blurred vision in the right eye.

Imaging is an integral part of the evaluation and management of retinal disorders. Each imaging modality has its own unique capabilities and can show a different aspect or perspective of disease. Multimodal retinal imaging provides a wealth of substantive and insightful information; however, the integration of all this complex data can be overwhelming.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common clinical arrhythmia, and it results in adverse outcomes and increased healthcare costs. Racial and ethnic differences in AF management, although recognized, are poorly understood. This review summarizes racial differences in AF epidemiology, genetics, clinical presentation, and management.

Purpose: To report an unusual case of a patient who presented with intraocular inflammation (IOI) and an exudative retinal detachment after first brolucizumab injection and to compare this case to the existing literature.
Methods: An 80-year-old woman being treated for neovascular age-related macular degeneration presented 11 days after her first intravitreal injection of brolucizumab with IOI and an exudative retinal detachment. She was treated with systemic and topical steroids.

Background: Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9) selectively cleaves extracellular matrix proteins contributing to tumor growth and an immunosuppressive microenvironment. This study evaluated andecaliximab (ADX), an inhibitor of MMP9, in combination with nivolumab (NIVO), for the treatment of advanced gastric cancer.
Methods: Phase 2, open-label, randomized multicenter study evaluating the efficacy, safety, and pharmacodynamics of ADX+NIVO versus NIVO in patients with pretreated metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is used to support patients with refractory cardiopulmonary failure. Given ECMO's increased use in adults and the fact that many ECMO patients are cared for by anesthesiologists, the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists ECMO working group created an expert consensus statement that is intended to help anesthesiologists manage adult ECMO patients who are cared for in the operating room. In the first part of this 2-part series, technical aspects of ECMO are discussed, and related expert consensus statements are provided.

Objective: To characterize the multimodal retinal findings of myopic macular pits, a feature of myopic degeneration.
Methods: A case series of patients with myopic macular pits were studied with multimodal imaging including color fundus photography, fundus autofluorescence (FAF), near infrared reflectance (NIR), spectral domain optical coherence tomography (OCT), optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA), fluorescein angiography (FA) and indocyanine green angiography (ICG).
Results: Nine eyes of 6 patients with myopic macular pit were examined.

Intravaginal boric acid (IBA) represents one of the only options available to treat azole-resistant vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) and is included as part of multiple national guidelines (including the United Kingdom and the United States) for the treatment of VVC or recurrent bacterial vaginosis. Novel products using IBA are under development for treatment and suppression of VVC and bacterial vaginosis. Use of over-the-counter or clinician-prescribed IBA in reproductive-aged women is already widespread and may increase further if drug resistance in VVC rises.
