Background: Microbiota-based treatments reduce the incidence of recurrent infections (rCDIs), but prospectively collected safety data needed to broaden patient access and protect public health have been limited.
Objectives: We provide cumulative safety data from five prospective clinical trials evaluating fecal microbiota, live-jslm (RBL) - the first microbiota-based live biotherapeutic product approved by the US Food and Drug Administration - for preventing rCDI in adults.
Design: Integrated safety analysis includes three phase II trials (PUNCH CD, PUNCH CD2, PUNCH Open-Label) and two phase III trials (PUNCH CD3, PUNCH CD3-OLS) of RBL.

Background: Resection of colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) is associated with improved survival; however, the impact of time to resection on survival is unknown. The current multi-institutional study sought to evaluate the influence of time from diagnosis (Dx) to resection (Rx) on survival outcomes among patients with resectable, metachronous CRLM and to compare practice patterns across hospitals.
Study Design: Medical records of patients with ≤4 metachronous CRLM treated with surgery were reviewed and analyzed retrospectively.

The recurrent translocations t(11;19) and t(11;15) resulting in CRTC1-MAML2 or CRTC3-MAML2 fusion oncogenes, respectively, are identified in a large proportion of mucoepidermoid carcinomas (MECs) of the salivary gland and have impact on prognosis. However, there are conflicting data on the specificity of this translocation, in particular, on its putative occurrence in Warthin tumor (WT) of the parotid gland as reported in few previous cases. It was speculated that extensive squamous metaplasia could explain the presence of t(11;19) translocation in a subset of WTs.

Severe burns result in a profound hypermetabolic response. Catecholaminergic surges secondary to the burn injury itself, particularly if superimposed on premorbid cardiac disease, can result in cardiac arrhythmias. If unstable, these cardiac rhythm disturbances necessitate immediate cardioversion to regain normal sinus rhythm.

Context: Uncommon examples of schwannomas are seen in which a coexisting glandular component is present. The pseudoglandular schwannoma is a relatively recently described variant in which cystic spaces are lined by pseudocolumnar or cuboidal-like neoplastic Schwann cells exhibiting an epithelial-like appearance.
Objectives: To determine the incidence of pseudoglandular elements in schwannomas, to describe the variable morphology of the schwannomas that may contain pseudoglandular elements, and to discuss the potential mechanisms of development and biological significance of these elements.
