Hypoxia-mediated cardiac tissue injury and its repair or regeneration are one of the major health management challenges globally. Unlike mammals, lower vertebrate species such as zebrafish (Danio rerio) represent a natural model to study cardiac injury, repair and regeneration. Thyroxine (T3) has been hypothesised to be one of the endocrine factors responsible for the evolutionary trade-off for acquiring endothermy and regenerative capability in higher vertebrates.

We first investigate how the flatness and the symmetry of the -tensor impact both the base manifold and the fiber manifold of a warped product manifold. In both cases, we determine the form of the -tensor on both the fiber and the base manifolds. Additionally, we establish that the fiber manifold is of constant curvature, while the base manifold is Einstein.

Mitochondrial CPT1-mediated fatty acid β-oxidation (FAO) critically contributes to the accelerated metastatic expansion of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). Hence, inhibition of FAO through active CPT1 targeting could be a promising therapeutic approach in anti-TNBC therapies. Herein, we strategically synthesized a pyrene chain end labelled copolymer bearing biotin pendants, CP4, that actively targets CPT1 and efficiently blocks FAO in metastatic TNBC.

Given the high prevalence of Chagas disease in the Americas, we targeted the unique arginyl-tRNA synthetase of its causative agent Trypanosoma cruzi. Among their many possible uses, naphthalene-derived fluorescent ligands, such as ANS and bis-ANS, may be employed in pharmacokinetic research. Although ANS and bis-ANS have become prominent fluorescent probes for protein characterization, the structural and spectroscopic characteristics of protein-ANS/bis-ANS complexes remain largely unknown.

A series of sulfonamido-substituted oxime-ethers have been synthesized by the reaction of donor-acceptor aziridines with aldo- and keto-oximes through C-C bond cleavage. Nucleophilic attack by an oxime hydroxyl group on the -generated azomethine ylide rather than the routine cycloaddition reaction draws the novelty of the developed methodology. Selective protection of the oxime hydroxyl group is observed in the presence of phenolic -OH, which made the protocol enriched.

Distinctive, green, innovative, and well-organized photoinduced (metal- or photocatalyst-free) regioselective decarbonylative and decarboxylative C-O bond functionalization protocols to access aryl 2-aminobenzoates and 2-substituted benzoxazinone derivatives in excellent yields have been devised. These are achieved through the chemoselective scission of isatoic anhydride with ketones, diaryliodonium triflate, nitroalkene, phthalazinone, and phenol derivatives, which, in turn, served as the representative "electrophilic and nucleophilic" coupling partners. Control experiments and DFT calculations reveal that electrophilic radical-bearing coupling partners specifically follow the decarbonylation pathway, while nucleophilic radical-bearing conjugates facilitate the decarboxylation process.

The functionality of natural origin-based fibres can provide minimal protection against UV exposure; however, surface modification of fabrics can help to achieve better outcomes. The ability to provide protection basically depends upon several factors of textile fabric, such as fibre chemistry, yarn structural parameters, fabric weave construction, fabric areal density, cover factor, porosity, and humidity. Due to the constant reduction of the ozone layer in the atmosphere, increasing UV radiation has now raised severe concerns across the globe, which is projected to deteriorate the state of global health.

Given the large and growing number of older (45+ years) people in India, inequitable access to healthcare in this population would slow global progress toward universal health coverage. We used a 2017-18 nationally representative sample of this population (n = 53,687) to estimate healthcare inequality and inequity by economic status. We used an extensive battery of indicators in nine health domains, plus age and sex, to adjust for need.

Quantum capacitance () is a crucial parameter that reflects the energy storage capacity of supercapacitors. In this work, we extensively investigate the effect of vacancy induced defects on quantum capacitance of well studied biphenylene (BPN) and graphenylene (GPN) monolayers. Based on density functional theory (DFT), we have systematically studied the consequence of vacancies on structural stability, charge distribution, electronic band structure of pristine systems, and correlated this with the variation of quantum capacitance with applied voltage.

In this article, the photophysical properties of ethyl-3-(benzo[D]thiazol-2-yl)-5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzoate (EBTCH) and ethyl-3-(benzo[D]oxazol-2-yl)-5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzoate (EBOCH) have been explored spectroscopically along with quantum chemical calculations. From a structural viewpoint, both molecules have two proton acceptor sites (thiazole/oxazole N atom and ester O atom) and a common proton donor site (phenolic -OH) connected by a six-membered H-bonding ring capable of both imine-amine and enol-keto photoisomerisation. Steady state absorption and emission spectra and time-resolved fluorescence characteristics of EBTCH and EBOCH and a comparison with the spectral data of controlled compounds 2-(benzo[D]thiazol-2-yl)-4-chlorophenol (BTCP), 2-(benzo[D]oxazol-2-yl)-4-chlorophenol (BOCP) and ethyl 5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzoate (ECHB) support the preference for imine-amine isomerisation over enol-keto isomerization in the excited state.
