Perception systems for assisted driving and autonomy enable the identification and classification of objects through a concentration of sensors installed in vehicles, including Radio Detection and Ranging (RADAR), camera, Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR), ultrasound, and HD maps. These sensors ensure a reliable and robust navigation system. Radar, in particular, operates with electromagnetic waves and remains effective under a variety of weather conditions.

Ibrutinib (IBR) is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor under investigation in preclinical and clinical settings as an alternative treatment for melanoma. Nevertheless, the limited oral bioavailability of IBR and the need for high doses of the drug to kill melanoma cells are major drawbacks for this purpose. Considering that melanoma is restricted to the skin at early stages, the topical application of IBR might constitute an effective and safer administration route.

Chagas disease (CD), a disease affecting millions globally, remains shrouded in scientific uncertainty, particularly regarding the role of the intestinal microbiota in disease progression. This study investigates the effects of antibiotic-induced microbiota depletion on parasite burden, immune responses, and clinical outcomes in BALB/c mice infected with either the Colombiana or CL Brener strains. Mice were treated with a broad-spectrum antibiotic cocktail before infection, and parasite burden was quantified via qPCR at 30 and 100 days post-infection (dpi).

Eggshell contamination threatens the viability of hatching eggs. This contamination can be caused by harmless, opportunistic, or pathogenic bacteria. Although necessary, the use of synthetic antibiotics to treat eggshells can present several significant problems: They can be toxic and damage the shell, and, most worryingly, they can lead to bacterial resistance.

Decontamination of poultry surfaces through appropriate hygiene and sanitation measures can partially mitigate bacterial problems, as this process does not result in the complete elimination of bacteria. Thus, the remaining bacteria can persist and contaminate eggshells. Therefore, regardless of the rigor of the sanitary standards applied on farms, it is suggested that hatching eggs be subjected to the sanitization process.

This paper reports the results of a mercury (Hg) and selenium (Se) metallomic study in the liver tissues of and from the Brazilian Amazon. Two-dimensional electrophoresis, graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry, and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry were performed. Hg and Se determinations allowed the calculation of Hg:Se and Se:Hg molar ratio and Se values for health benefits (Se HBVs).

Introduction: Healthcare workers (HCWs) are at higher risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Viral surveillance for early detection of COVID-19 is a critical strategy to understand this population's infection dynamics and prevent transmission. The study examines SARS-CoV-2 infection and reinfection among HCWs vaccinated against COVID-19 working at a primary healthcare unit serving a disenfranchised community in Brazil.

We calculate the second-order moments, the Robertson-Schrödinger uncertainty product, and the Mandel factor for various superpositions of coherent phase states with opposite arguments, comparing the results with similar superpositions of the usual (Klauder-Glauber-Sudarshan) coherent states. We discover that the coordinate variance in the analog of even coherent states can show the most strong squeezing effect, close to the maximal possible squeezing for the given mean photon number. On the other hand, the Robertson-Schrödinger (RS) uncertainty product in superpositions of coherent phase states increases much slower (as function of the mean photon number) than in superpositions of the usual coherent states.

Background: Physical performance tests are reliable tools to assess aspects related to strength, power, and mobility. Unfortunately, few studies were performed with older adults. The main goal of this study was to describe reference values for the Closed Kinetic Chain Upper Extremity Stability Test (CKCUEST) and Upper Quarter Y Balance Test (UQYBT) in older adults and to determine differences based on sex.

Background: This study will be the first scoping review dedicated to investigating screening strategies for eating disorders specifically performed in the primary health care setting, as no comprehensive examination has been performed to date. Our primary aim is to explore the available literature and assess and identify validated screening strategies for eating disorders in adolescents and adults within the primary care context.
Methods: The study protocol was developed following the guidance outlined by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses Protocols and the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology for scoping reviews.
In evolutionary terms, plastic traits can covary, providing adaptive value by compensating for certain characteristic costs or enhancing fitness. This combination of traits is expected in species with significant intrapopulation ecological variation, like insects. In the Phanaeini tribe, males and females have distinct nesting behaviors, and the alpha, beta, and gamma morphotypes of trimorphic males display different reproductive strategies.

The development of advanced preclinical models is crucial for the evaluation and validation of novel therapeutic strategies in oncology. Three-dimensional (3D) microtumor models, which incorporate both cancer and stromal cells within biomimetic hydrogels, have emerged as powerful tools that more accurately replicate the complex tumor microenvironment compared to traditional two-dimensional (2D) cell culture systems. In this context, our study aims to develop 3D microtumor models by integrating cancer and stromal cells within an extracellular-matrix-mimetic hydrogel, as a physiologically accurate microtumor model that can serve as an innovative platform for advanced cancer research and drug screening.

Background: Numerous prognostic scores have been developed and used in intensive care; however, the applicability and effectiveness of these scores in critically ill patients with acute kidney injury may vary due to the characteristics of this population.
Objective: To assess the predictive capacity of the Simplified Acute Physiology Score III (SAPS III), Sequential Sepsis-related Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) and Nursing Activities Score (NAS) prognostic scoring systems for acute kidney injury in critically ill patients.
Methods: Cohort, prospective and quantitative study with follow-up of 141 critical patients in intensive care.

Background And Objectives: Endovascular therapy (EVT) has recently become the most widely used treatment method for intracranial aneurysms (IAs). However, the literature on this topic is heterogeneous, with studies assessing and reporting surgical and clinical outcomes in different ways, lacking standardization. We aimed to evaluate the quality of these studies and propose a reporting guideline focusing on essential elements to ensure reproducibility and comparability.

This study investigated the impact of social isolation in Carioca High-Conditioned Freezing (CHF) rats, an animal model of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Animals selected for high (CHF), low trait anxiety (Carioca Low-Conditioned Freezing, CLF), and control rats from randomly bred populations (CTL) were housed in groups or kept isolated in their cages for 14 consecutive days. On the fifteenth day, all animals underwent the Forced Swimming Test (FST), where the latency to immobility was assessed as a depressive-like measure.

A promising approach for managing root caries is the use of cross-linking agents to stabilize collagen. However, despite testing various natural and synthetic agents in vitro, their efficacy remains uncertain. The aim of this review was to examine which cross-linking agent performs better in reducing root caries lesion depth and the release of hydroxyproline, which is a marker of collagen degradation.

Purpose: An association between the use of chlorhexidine in mechanically ventilated patients for the purpose of oral hygiene and the prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) lacks conclusive evidence in the literature. Therefore, this study aims to assess the clinical impact of such practice. This evaluation will consider that retention factors, infection foci, and oral biofilm will be regularly removed by a dentist.
